We travelled the Cariboo Gold Rush Trail through the Fraser Canyon on our way to Barkerville. The town is beautifully restored and has lots of fun features such as a stage coach ride, gold panning and wonderful entertainment in the Gold Rush style theatre. The...More

We visited Barkerville in May 2015. Prior to arriving, I called the St. George Hotel to books rooms. Although the advertisement on the Trip Advisor website shows "kid friendly", I was told they do not accept children under 12 years of age.

We love social history and Barkerville does this extremely well. We started with the tour that gave us an overview, continued with the stage coach ride (another interesting introduction to the bumpy form of transport of cowboy times). , followed by a good nose around...More

Barkerville is a very interesting place to visit and has lots of history. There is something going on all the time to keep a person busy. This was our second visit in 9 years and we hope to get back there again some year.

We took a trip back in time and relived /checked out things we used to use and do. Good for families looking for the way some of the older days were. Road construction almost finished so the road should be good.
