Ross provides a fun and informative tour to those visiting Jasper to check out its wildlife evening tour. Enjoyed the hiking tour to Maligne Lake. It was chilly since it was October so layers were essential in the mountains along with a hot chocolate. Maligne Canyon is beautiful with its lichen lined walls bordering the aqua pool and waterfall. This is a definite must do adventure while in Jasper.

We are a family of 6 that was looking for a novel experience and booked a family rafting adventure in July of 2021.
We were met as promised by Trevor in the Jasper parking lot and were very relieved to see the Covid 19 precautions they spoke of were actually used. We loaded onto a pretty nice older bus and transported to the departure site where everyone was fitted with nice clean wetsuits and other gear. Alex took us through a very comprehensive safety briefing and then then we got onto the raft and launched out onto the Athabasca river. We floated and rode through some beautiful calm areas and some light rapids where, being in the front, I was thoroughly soaked. So much fun!!. our guide was well informed and told us about the sights etc in a very informative way. The gear we used was in top shape and the whole experience was delivered professionally and made for a very memorable event. Thanks to Trevor and his staff!! I would highly recommend this tour company

Used the Maligne Adventure tours as a shuttle to start the Skyline hike at Maligne lake and finish at Signal so we could return to our vehicle. Best way to go! Very friendly, informative and saw lots of wildlife on the way! Thanks so much!

I would highly recommend this tour. Our tour guide Mark was fantastic and super knowledgable. He shared so much information about various things from wildlife to rock formations to history of the area. We were never rushed and we stopped several times when we saw wildlife and were able to see a bear, moose, elk, eagles and osprey. It was a small group which was also really nice, only19 people but tours are maximum of 24 which gives a much more personal experience. Also this is a locally owned business!

Hello Cindy, Thank you for choosing Maligne Adventures for your Maligne Valley Sightseeing tour. Markus loves to talk about the history of the valley and the wildlife that come with it. We really enjoy his knowledge when we work with him. We are glad that you never felt rushed and got lots of lovely photos, that is a big thing with our company we want everyone to get a fair chance at the opportunity of taking photos and learning more about our amazing National Park. Thank you for taking the time to write such kind words and supporting a local business. We hope to see you in the future for another day tour!

This was a really fun day. Our guides were awesome and even though it rained, we had a blast. The neoprene suits, gloves and booties they gave us were clean and not at all stinky. We felt safe and were pretty warm considering getting drenched with cold river water. We highly recommend Maligne Adventures!

Definitely worth the price to pay for their shuttle to the start of the Skyline trail. Punctual departure, good Covid precautions, comfortable bus and best of all - your vehicle waiting for you at the end of the trail. Highly recommended..

Sam took us on the wildlife tour. He was very considerate of the wildlife and respecting the land. A confident driver and a ball of knowledge on the area and the animals. We saw 6 moose,(highlight was a female moose with 2 calves) one black bear, 3 male elks In velvet, marmots , osprey and bald eagle with chicks. We couldn't have asked fir more, along with hotel pickup/drop-off.

Having been under the impression we were on a small group wildlife tour we were a little surprised when a 24 seater bus arrived to collect us.
Things failed to improve as we headed east out of Jasper on the main highway - after nearly 45 minutes averaging 70kph on we were not really surprised to have spotted little in the way of wild life. An invitation to stretch our legs and wonder 50 yards from this busy thoroughfare was similarly unrewarding and although we did (after nearly 2 hours) venture off the main road (when the viewing pace slowed to perhaps 50 kph) we saw little except a few elk (very, very plentiful in the area) a an osprey nest.
If your idea of a nature drive involves long periods at high speed on a busy road this trip may be for you but if not I suggest you look elsewhere.
The only positive is that the guide was very knowledgeable although, how on earth she she was meant to drive and spot wildlife was beyond me.

Having heard great things about the wildlife tours in Jasper, my family and I were excited.
However, upon walking out of the hotel we realised something was immediately amiss. Instead of what we were expecting (“small group tours”) a large bus was waiting outside. We were the last pick up and were placed at the back of the poorly ventilated bus - with only two small windows to see out of. As you can imaging this made it quite uncomfortable and far far from ideal for spotting wildlife.
This aside, the tour went on to be hugely disappointing.
As a family we have done several wildlife trips in canada so therefore do not expect to see wildlife at every turn. However, I do not know how you are expected to see a single creature traveling at 70kph down the main road exiting Jasper - then back again.

This was truly baffling.

I would describe this trip as a mass coach tour travelling at high speed down the highway. You did have good views of the lakes and grasslands surrounding the road, and we saw a few elk - but these animals are in abundance in Jasper so it was hardly surprising.

Oh and we saw a duck....

The guide was nice, knowledgable and meant well, but talking about what she has seen previously while we zoomed passed the spots was not inspiring. I imagine it is also quite challenging for her to spot wildlife while trying to also not collide with the oncoming highway traffic.

It would be fine to see minimal animals if the tour was in scenes of beauty, away from a main road. However it wasn’t. It was almost laughable how inappropriate the concept was.

Please pay more and go with another company.

We booked this tour the night before via the website as we only had a few days in the National Parks and we'd be disappointed if we had not seen at least wild bears on our Canada trip (nothing so far). Felt it was a bit of a gamble but we probably won't get the chance again.
Well the tour guide arrived at our hotel lobby promptly at 5:15pm, introduced himself as Jasper John and we had a brief chat as we walked to the bus, could tell he was a friendly, engaging person. We were the first on board the minibus so got the pick of the seats. It was a new, clean, air conditioned and comfortable minibus and a quiet engine - very pleasant.
After collecting at one more hotel, we set off.
It began to become apparent that Jasper John is a quirky (in a very good way) guide and he made the trip all the more enjoyable with his stories from his many years in the Rockies etc. (The speakers seemed to be just right on the bus as often these things begin to grate on you and are painful by the end.)
I won't spoil the stories for others but this makes the travel in between fly by!
He is clearly someone who has a deep appreciation and cares for the wildlife of Canada, taking time to point out, stopping the coach, to see the osprey and its nest which he knew are very rare in the UK.

So in the end we saw several bears (including a Cinnamon bear, a rare paler black bear), Elk, deer, osprey etc.
As others have mentioned the tour exceeded the allotted time by several hours so that we got the best chance of seeing the animals, so this seems to be a reliable feature.
Jasper John also explains where to look and when and sign, tracks to look out for so you can use this knowledge in future.
All in all an excellent excursion with a guide who is knowledgeable, friendly and entertaining.
