Photos of this speck of an island in Maligne Lake are among Canada's most famous. No, your feet don't touch the ground there, and the wharf isn't there. You photograph Spirit Island FROM the wharf and from the dry land around and above the wharf. Seeing and photographing (but not visiting) Spirit Island are an objective of the Maligne Lake... More

Lovely boat trip to get to this location...the scenery is breathtaking but the stop on the island is very brief & I would have liked more time..still worth it though..

We did Spirit Lake as part of a 5 hour Waterfalls and Wildlife tour which stopped along the way at various lookouts, lakes and animal sightings. It is about an hour drive to the dock area where the boats leave from. There is a cafe here where you can get gifts and some lunch. There is only 1 boat company... More

It is an hour’s drive and about 30 miles from Jasper to the lodge, restaurant (great coffee!), gift shop and boat docks at Maligne Lake. The deep blue, 14 mile long lake surrounded by picturesque snow capped mountains is the largest in Jasper National Park. Canoe rentals and the 90 minute boat cruise to iconic Spirit Island (advance reservations required)... More

The only way to come see this view is by boat, and the cruises are kinda "monopolized" by one tourist company. You're only given 15 minutes at the sight for picture taking. Is it worth it? I guess so if you don't do it every day ;)

Beautiful trip, stunning trip on the boat to this beautiful island. Plenty of time to take photos - there is also a cafe which does snacks.

The island lies at the furthest point of the Maligne Lake cruise and is very photogenic, plus also gives views up the lake and surrounding mountains Excellent

Our coach tour from Jasper, included a visit across the Maligne lake by boat to this island. It takes approximately 35 minutes to reach the Island. There really is not much at all on Spirit Island, but this is the main attraction. The effort is rewarded with picturesque scenery, remoteness and serenity. Incredibly Parks Canada have provided washrooms near the... More

It is said to be one of the most popular landmarks in the Canadian Rockies. We went with Spirit Island Boat Cruise up to Spirit Island and back. The scenery is just stunning all the way up and down Maligne Lake, you get about 20 minutes landing on Spirit Island the scenery for me was breathtaking, I enjoyed every minute... More

We took the boat trip to Spirit Island and it was fabulous. The views are breath-taking and there is time to get off the boat at Spirit Island to take photos
