We mostly spent time here waiting for our tour. They manage to move an amazing amount of people around pretty well . We

Family holiday visit during unseasonal adverse weather when the place was bustling and busy, but we left feeling that we had been 'processed' rather than welcomed. Attraction / ride prices high. Souvenir shops OK and of interest but again a bit pricey. Highlight of the...More
I downloaded Tripadvisor app to rate this place 1/5, it was that bad. So full of tourists & the staff was rude and food was bad. The view was nice and you kind of have to stop there because there are not that many places...More
The Althabasca Glacier and the Glass Walk are both amazing. i was bowled over looking at the size of the tyres of the bus that took me to the glacier. i started from Banff Fairmont and via Lake Louie, the bus drove into the icefield...More
If you are booked onto a tour to the Athabasca glacier then this is where they leave from. Therefore it is very busy. We also ate here - queues were long, but we waited as wanted the chilli con carne on a cold June day...More
The discovery centre downstairs is worth the stop (and it's free!). The glacier tour is fine but very expensive and skywalk is absolutely not worth the price. You can pull over and have just as nice a view on the side of the road. The...More
This is a focal point for masses of tourists, us included, making the trip between Banff and Jasper, but for good reason. The location is simply stunning with towering snow capped mountains and I believe five glaciers in view if you stand in the right...More

That sounds great. Google says it’s a 4 hour drive but it will take longer because you will continually stop in awe! Perhaps take in the hot springs at Radium, right on 93. Coming along 93 toward the AB BC border ups Marble Canyon, very nice. Also there are paint pots that you can hike into.
As you go up to Jasper from Banff, be sure to stop at Athabasca Falls.
There’s tons to see and do in both townsites/parks but you can get lots of info on that from the parks or anyplace.
There is a daily park fee.
In Banff, be sure to take the Lake Minnewanka loop drive because that’s where the big horn sheep hang out. And ALWAYS be watching for wildlife.
My son just got back from a camping weekend in Banff.. had a wonderful time. Kayaked and hiked.
You will love it! 😄
