We stopped at the Discovery Center on our ride up the Icefield Parkway from Banff to Jasper. The very busy Center is primarily a ticket center and departure point for the Icefield tours; we did not participate in that tour, and looked at the restaurant...More

Do not purchase the insulated coffee cups! 2 cups, including tax, over $50!! No obvious pricing and we were charged as had filled the cups. No help from the staff. They leaked! We were unable to return them as on a bus tour! Take your...More

Very well organized tour. They do a great job with every aspect. The guides were informative and friendly. The Athabasca Glacier is why you go. Once you take the bus to the glacier you get about 30 minutes to walk around. At first I thought...More

The Discovery Centre is just opposite the Athabasca Glacier. The viewing deck offers incredible views of the glacier and the surrounding areas. We had our buffet lunch here which was to our taste. We were on a day tour with Brewster and the lunch was...More

We had the BEST time on the glacier. Everyone was so nice from start to finish. The time on the glacier is so peaceful. And you MUST be a cup or empty bottle to drink the glacier water

We visited here, hoping to find out interesting facts about the area and all we could see was places selling tickets and souvenirs. We were about to explore more and see where they'd hidden any info when an extremely loud siren went off. I saw...More

The buffet is also a dining place for group tourists, and some of group tourists are doing like in their own home, you know what I mean. The food is fine for the price and the location, but the atmosphere isn't.  And the servants are...More

Hi, we have planned a trip to Calgary and staying in a vacation home, we have a car rental for the week. We plan to go Banff, Lake Lousie and up to Columbia Icefield and visit some of the sites along the Icefields Parkway (highway 93). We will have to return the same day back to Calgary. We know it will be a long day. We will leave early 6:00 AM. Do you think it would be better to drive straight to Columbia ice field and then enjoy the sites on the way back, or stop at some of the sites on the way and just get to Icefield when we get there before closing time. What do you think estimated day will be and being able to enjoy what there is to stop and see along the way. I know there will be plenty of traffic. If we didn't have a home rented we could drive one day and stay and come back the next. So any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Do either, depending on the line-up at the registration centre, which could be huge. If you go to Jasper first get your tickets there, in advance, for your next day at the IceFields. The Tourist Info Centre in Jasper will... More
