Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

One of the few highlights in a pretty poor downtown area. Old neon signs from Edmonton are well worth visiting. Obviously better after dark, but still impressive in daytime. A free outdoor attraction near Rogers Place ice rink.

A walk to this area is best done at night time to appreciate the neon signs which once adorned many Edmonton shops.
If you look close enough you will find several History telling story plaques each telling you how the neon signs came to be who they belong to right up to the time the shops either closed down or were sold off.
This neon sign mueseum ( it is not indoors) plays homage to Edmonton's past business and those people who ran the businesses.
It is very nice to visit on a dry day and at night when it is dark to see the full effect.

This museum opened just last year and I only recently managed to take a look. I was quite pleased. The signs displayed are local and well-known to Edmontonians. Some of them brought back memories, while others were new to me.

This museum is outdoors, on 104 street just south of 104 avenue. It's free, with informative plaques on the wall of the building. It's better to see it after dark, of course, but is perfectly fine during the day, too.

The collection is decent, but will be much better with a few more signs added. I've heard that they have some that are currently being restored. I can't wait!

Outdoor museum with signs attached to an old brick building that is now being used by Telus. Open 24 hours; no fees.

Plaques detailing the former location of each sign are installed below each. Even though I am not too familiar with Edmonton it was very interesting reading their histories.

Cheers to Telus for commissioning and installing their own neon sign above their front entrance.

Overall, I think these signs give off some great light.
If you are considering coming all the way from the Newfoundland to Edmonton just to see these lights, please consider seeing other Edmonton sites as well.
Thanks.

When you see a neon sign on a building you expect it to be for a business there. But it is not in this case. I liked being reminded of signs that I remember from the past. For someone not from these parts, it might not mean much to them.

We went downtown about 9:30 pm. Lights were showing well. Liked the history boards that explained each sign. Unique display. Rally enjoyed it.

Not too many signs but enough to enjoy what is otherwise a very boring city aka Deadmonton. Take pictures and run.

The Museum is unique for featuring heritage neon signs that have been relocated to the downtown area. The signs are unusual and in several cases are quite a bit of fun. The access is easy and you can visit the signs any time.

We were looking forward to seeing this but we were totally disappointed to find that the museum is only an outdoor section of wall with the signs on it. I would say this is closer to a price of public art and not a museum.

Would be worth driving past when it’s lit up at night as the signs they have are a dramatic sight but don’t be like us and plan a trip to see it specifically!
