UC is a classic 1960-70s style university. Rather dull concrete buildings with some green space (and tons of jackrabbits, mostly around 6AM). It works, it's clean, pleasant environment, but don't expect classic 1860s university limestone architecture (e.g, UofGuelph, USask, Queen's, etc.) which is pretty hard to beat. Very easy to walk around main campus. If staying overnight, Alma Hotel is... More

My Daughter and Son attended this University. Its been growing so fast with new building and departments. Lots of food places to eat at and wonderful threaters for proformances.

Check out the athletic facilities complex at the UofC . These are some of the best in the city. Swimming, skating, squash and equipment abounds.

The University of Calgary is an ongoing source of activity. From the massive gymnasium with pool to the science section, culinary arts, engineering and on and on. Besides the famous Mac Hall, often the hub of activity, there are plenty of free seminars, workshops and talks daily. There are kids programs right up to elderly. Check out admissions, postings or... Graduated in1980, (living in the USA), and finally had a chance to tour campus again, and swim in the U of C pool (former swim team member).Amazed at the clean nice look of the campus, even though the student population has tripled! U of C pool was my home base, and it is STILL extremely well kept. Campus grounds were... More

The general layout is terrible, and all of the buildings except the new engineering one are from the 1960s. No windows, crowded halls, not that many places to eat. Do not go here.

a nice looking campus, but i was disappointed by my experience as a congress 2016 participant. there was no water offered to the panelists, as is customary at conferences. i was instructed to walk outside the room where i presented my paper (and it was quite a walk) to fill a plastic bottle at a drinking fountain. there was no... There is little to distinguish the University of Calgary campus from others that grew up across Canada in the 1960s and 1970s. There are a few attractive buildings, but most are humdrum. Make sure you have a campus map when you start your walk. I don't think I have been on a campus with poorer signage, certainly not during the... More

I've spent alot of time on campus. There are a couple of restaurants, there is a small museum, there is a university run hotel (alma - which is poor), so not alot worth going to see if you are a tourist.
