I went during the winter. It was frozen, but the hike around or on it was amazing. Even if you are just there to see the views, you can see people skating, or people ice climbing on the mountain.

Our trips are never complete without a visit to the frozen lake. Some Ice sculptures had been created by the hotel, but I believe that they also hold a competition with more added.

We're in Calgary for work and decided to rent a car and drive up for the day. The Fairmont is gorgeous and the ice rinks on Lake Louise look really well maintained. So Canadian to play hockey with the massive mountains towering above! I can't wait to come back with my family.

Lake louise is an infamous lake in banff which is more accessible than lake morraine. It is located in front of fairmont chateau. Also depend on the season and the sun shine in order to endure the beauty of it. Also the higher up you go the more you can see the whole lake and enjoy its beauty and turquoise... More

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed walking on the frozen lake. The scenery is worth bundling up for.

I came here in June, on 2 separate occasions 2 days apart. The 1st day was a breath of fresh air. A brief snow squall blanketed the area into a winter wonderland the 2nd time. The old adage applies. In Alberta, when you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes. It's bound to change. Parking is horrid. Even on a... More

This was my second visit - once with a friend in the height of winter and this last time in spring. This has to be one of the most beautiful places in the Banff National Park - that water! It really is the colour in the photographs and a very special place. Next time we shall visit in the summer.... More

Second visit to Lake Louise and it doesn't get old. Beyond gorgeous. So romantic, my loving husband wrote me a poem on site. The hotel grounds are immaculate. We did get a drink at the hotel so we could sit outside and enjoy the view. I saw a cute little chipmunk a few feet away. Tip: Park in the garage... More

We went to the Fairmont for High Tea and walked around the lake. There were amazing ice sculptures, even a castle! Watched the people ice skating and the horse drawn carriages looked like a lot of fun. Disappointed we did not have more time to spend. This was our one day off from skiing and well worth a trip.

Lake Louise in winter was just stunning. Lovely just to have a walk around and enjoy the scenery but we also hired skates from the Fairmont hotel and had a go on the natural frozen lake rink. Skates $12 for 2 hours. It was a nice experience but the ice was a bit uneven and tricky for a beginner like... More
