We stopped by Douglas Fir for the Waterpark - something to do in between the Banff Gondola and the Banff Trail Ride. The kids (ages 8 and 12) really enjoyed the two water slides, and the two hot tubs (one indoor, one outdoor) were nice and warm. Overall, the changing rooms were clean and the ladies room had a hair... More

Three 11 year old boys like to hike and check out the town. But they were really having the most fun when they were on the two great water slides at this resort. We had to continually pry them away from the water if we wanted to go see anything. Hotel rooms were okay, but the waterslides were definitely the... More

The huge indoor Playzone and the 2 waterslides in the water park will keep younger kids busy for hours. A great destination for something different to do, or in inclement weather. Older children (over 12) are not allowed in the Playzone. And would probably bore of the waterslides before long. But for toddlers and younger children, you'll probably have to... More

Our lodge was perfect for our stay, bedding, towels spotlessly clean as was the living accommodation. Took breakfast option which was ample to see us through our stay. Enjoyed sitting in front of log fire with nightcap. On site facilities good. Shuttle bus service available into and from town.

Quality of furnishings, electrical & staff has sadly declined since previous visits. We will return to Rockies however never to stay with Douglas Fir Resort again.

We stayed at the resort, so entrance fees were included. Otherwise the fees are a little steep for me. Kids loved the water slides but complained that the water was icy! The other resort pools were much warmer. A great inclusion to our hotel stay but with so much to do in Banff I'm not sure I'd have paid to... More

This pool was excellent for the kids. With two water slides they wear themselves out going up the stairs. There is an indoor and outdoor hot tub. They were a little warm for our liking. And the only pool is the one the slides drop into, so no opportunity to really swim at all.

I already wrote a review on what a great place this is and how much we loved it and will definitely be returning! I have to add that her bag AND everything in it has been returned, including the money that was left in her wallet. I just have to say what a pleasant surprise that was! I wasn't expecting... More
