This is a nice accessible trail, wide open and a lot of viewpoints. The trail was being worked on when we were there, but the improvements are necessary.

This mountain towers above Banff and has a decent trail path for all to follow to the top. I had been pretty ill and was a little weak but I managed the hike to the top to take in the wonderful views. There are pathways...More

If you want a hike that provides great views, a good workout and you can access on foot if you are staying in town, go here. It is Banff...it is tourist and it is busy...I prefer quiet trails with less people but this one fit...More

A section of Tunnel Mountain Drive ends at the trailhead for Tunnel Mountain Trail, but that makes for great parking. This is a very popular all season hike, really, only a slightly strenuous walk. The trail is nice and wide, and while it is not...More

A beautiful walk up a switchback trail with nice views of Banff and the hotel. The walk down is much more enjoyable and quick!

I would suspect that the hike during better weather could be different. Unfortunately when we walked the trails that day, the entire valley was really hazy.

The trial is pretty short: 30 min walk. Once you reach the top you have a nice view on both sides of the mountain: 1 on Banff, 1 on the highway #1 going to Canmore, including a golf, forests, mountains, ...

Did the 300m ascent on a hot day in September. The views from the trail and the summit were definitely worth it. It's a steep climb, especially at the beginning, so come prepared.

This trail is one of my favorites in Banff (the actual city of Banff). It does have an incline, which isn't too bad, but it definitely isn't super easy. You are going up an incline, so depending on your fitness it can be just a...More

I hiked this tunnel trail in June but I am pretty sure you can do it easily with only snow boots during snow Saison as it is all on gravel roads.

Saw very little wildlife. Tunnel Trail was a gentle uphill. It was done at 10 in morning. We crossed paths with others who lived in area. It was our first hike upon arriving in Banff. Again. Very little wildlife viewing... More

Yes, there are signs directing tourists from the city center to the trail. We were staying in a hotel in town and walked to the trail head from there.
