There’s no comparing the emerald green waters of Minnewanka with any urban landscape. Mountain ridges stretch as far as the eye can see, eventually blurring into a blissful cascade of colours.

Visited the lake and did a boat tour on 08/16/18 while in the area for a work conference. It's a little ways from the city center, but a nice ride as you can take the #6 bus from the high school. If you're looking to...More

We drove the loop two times on two different days. The first day, we saw a grizzly eating berries by the side of the road. The second, we came across a herd of big horn sheep, including 2 babies.

We visited here and it was just amazing. We had booked the family cruise at 3pm which I cannot recommend enough. The staff were so entertaining. Our 2 daughters (8 & 5) loved it. The lake itself is beautiful. We saw people renting canoes. Some...More

We saw a very large herd of mountain goats amazing because they walk right by you as if they don't even notice you! Took a minute to remind our boys that this wasn't a petting zoo and we had to stay back from the animals....More

Thank you Sera P for this great review. Sounds like you and your family enjoyed your time at Lake Minnewanka. The big horn sheep spend a lot of time near our shore line and are especially noticed when the cross along the 1941 dam /...More

Beautiful scenery. Well maintained pathways. Knowledgeable staff. We did the easy hike to the bridge and then carried on about another 15 minutes beyond in the area where bear spray is mandatory. The uphill climb was too difficult for us so we turned back. We...More

The weather wasn't great which never helps but the lake itself wasn't very interesting. Our Captain Dan and the tour guide Ardene were charming and funny and did their best to give us a good time. Maligne Lake is definitely the better lake cruise.

This is really just a noisy, windy, and annoying ride on the Lake, with a guide who did not speak English very well, and even gave out some wrong information, which we learned later when we checked on it. We were shown some worn out...More

Hi ConnoisseurCharlotte, sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your time on the water. We realize that our one hour cruise isn't for everyone. Most guests say the perspective of the mountains from the water and the interpretive guide experience is a better way to see...More

There is a camping area there so I would say yes, but not sure if certain areas are closed off. Certainly the lake boat operations finish early evening in summer. Check Canada Parks website.
