Sunshine Village sits high on the Continental Divide in the heart of Banff National Park, and is just minutes from the mountain town of Banff. Three sprawling mountains provide breathtaking sitelines, uninterrupted by any signs of civilization beyond the resort's leasehold. Ski or ride in Alberta and British Columbia in one run. Sunshine Village's seven-month season stretches from early November until late May - the longest non-glacial season in Canada. The Village's altitude of 7,082 feet ensures the snow stays dry. Sunshine can receive up to nine metres (30 feet) of snow in a season, and it stays all year.

Wonderful mountain to Ski with plenty of terrain for all levels. The ambassadors were some of the friendliest volunteers, not to mention the staff were super accommodating. The only drawback was with regards to their "mountain tours". Most ski areas accommodate all levels of skiers,...More

After much deliberation, I chose the sunshine village gondola as the one gondola ride on our Banff area vacation. I am so glad I made this choice. After a very long and lovely gondola ride, we continued to a chairlift. Total ride time was about...More

To go up to the sunshine village, it takes a 25 minute gandola ride and then a ski lift to the top. Then from there on the hikes start. We went up there to see the wild flowers as the pink ones looked very pretty....More

I can't recommend enough visiting this ski resort in summer. The gondola ride is beautiful (visit Friday through Monday when it's running,) and the views from the top of the Standish Chairlift are some of the best in Banff. Great day trip from Calgary if...More

It's really exciting to be transported by a cabin to the actual resort, which gives it a remote location feel. The snow was good for December and staff very friend. I however preferred by far Lake Louise, Kicking Horse and Revelstoke!

It really depends on the weather too and what time of year you are heading up there. But yes well worth the hike, stunning scenery! And yes, wear comfortable hiking shoes.

I haven't seen any pets during my visit there, but I would definitely suggest calling in and confirming with them. You can reach them at (403) 705-4000.
