Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

amazing sheep work by Ned (sheep dog) and shearing by famous shearer Toby Hill.
while i have seen a lot of sheep shearing (growing up on a sheep ranch) Toby was amazingly fast, efficient, and careful with the lamb. the locally made merino products were lovely i got some gloves. the tea was very good with excellent cookies. we could have stayed for hours.

We loved our stop at this sheep farm which was included a part of the TranzAlpine day long tour. The farm owners Trevor and Heather gave us such a fascinating look at their farm and farm life, including a sheep shearing and mustering demonstration. We enjoyed learning about the various wools and their processing. We also appreciated the tea and cookies and made purchases at their small shop of sweaters and woolens. After traveling through New Zealand we wished we had shopped more at the farm.

We were traveling from Christchurch to Takaka and wanted to catch a sheep farm, so I discovered Toby Hill Farm online. We weren't disappointed. We were treated to a working dog demonstration, a sheep-shearing, and a delightful chat with the owners. I highly recommend this particular farm if you're looking to learn and to connect with New Zealanders. This visit was one of the highlights of our entire trip.

If you are in New Zealand, don't miss a visit to a farm. It's absolutely a must experience to know how much New Zealand is dependent on farms. We learned a lot and had a great time.

I am SO happy to be able to write about the Toby Hill Sheep Farm because of what it has to offer. Here are some of the things offered: watch sheep dogs gather and separate a group of sheep, feed the sheep, feed and have picture taken by Alpacas, watch a sheep being sheared, and a great lunch of lamb burgers and fixings. There is a small gift shop. And there is a place to book a ride on jet boat on the local river. Note: you've got to witness the sheepdogs in action! A sheep farm may not sound like the most interesting thing to do but the whole Toby Hill Station is a fun, interesting, and I dare say educational for the whole family. Kids will love feeding the sheep and the alpacas.
