Pleasant setting and friendly staff.

However, food service was extremely slow with us waiting around an hour for a pizza and platter.

This was disappointing as we weren't warned during ordering that service would be slow.

I recommend if there are quite a few people already at venue that you check wait times.

The 6 people who met for lunch generally agreed this was the worst meal we have had.
The service was abysmal with meals taking almost 3 hours to come out.
The wine tasting (choice of 5 wines) took over 2 hours. Many of the wines aged while we there!
The staff were untrained and totally out of their depth.
If you must eat here, choose the pizza. All other meals were very substandard.
The manager admitted that there was a problem and apologised but too little too late.
Just do yourself a favour and go somewhere else.

We arrived for a 12.45pm booking and it took 20 minutes for them to find us a table, which wasn’t correctly set when we were seated. We were given our first two wine tastings and ordered our pizza which came out in reasonable time. However, the lamb pizza was brought out without tzatziki and fetta and the pumpkin and fetta pizza didn’t have fetta or rocket on it, despite fetta being in the name of the pizza! We did try to get the attention of a staff member to ask about this, but we barely got a glance in our direction so we just ate them before they got cold. We then sat there for an hour with no service at all, our food plates weren’t cleared and we weren’t given any more tastings, while tables from the 1.30pm sitting were given there full tastings while we still didn’t even get a glance from the staff. It took over an hour and 45 minutes into our supposed 45 minute sitting for someone to come and clean the table and ask where we were at with our tasting. While they did bring the wine, as the table was never set correctly to begin with, they poured red wine into glasses that previously had white wine in it, and unfortunately we weren’t able to try the Emily Cross Shiraz we asked for as the wrong Shiraz was poured and the mistake wasn’t made up. This experience seemed to be shared, with a number of other customers saying they were disappointed by the service.

Greeted warmly at door which is huge to me .. A choice of 5 wines to taste and ordered our pizzas 🍕 Lamb and tatziki and a pumpkin and feta with rocket both very tasty 😋. Also a salt and pepper squid and chips, great chips 👌. Favorite wine was Definately Pj Shiraz 2016.. very nice drop 🍷. A very cosy setting and good fires inside 🔥. To keep you toasty. We were lucky enough to receive a Great State Voucher and really enjoyed ourselves . Only one thing ( we were seated on a table with other people we did not know which I found strange ) Would have thought we’d have a table to ourselves. Thankyou 🍷👍. Well be back

Glad to hear you enjoyed your visit. Yes we have been extremely busy in the last month. Which made it a little harder to accommodate a large number if couple bookings. Looking forward to seeing you again at Angas Plains Wines. Cheers

Stopped by as a family in the middle of harvest. Friendly welcome from the owner who directed us where to park so we wouldn't be in the way of all the tractors! Fabulous cellar door with funky outdoor seating and a glorious view. You must try the homemade scones with cabernet jam - OMG! Lovely coffees too and very friendly waitress. Dog friendly to boot. The under cover area looked awesome as well and I can imagine the regular music nights here must be great.

Hospitality is a great skill and Judy and Phil really know how to show a cheerful and ready welcome! Enjoyed the cellar door experience and stayed a few nights getting to know Langhorne Creek, South Australia's "other" wine region. B&B accommodation was clean and included a bar fridge and tea and coffee supplies. Breakfast was served in the main cellar door area with a freshly laid fire roaring to keep us cosy! Came back just to try the Coorong Mullet on the menu for lunch, exceeded expectations. Thanks for a great experience, highly recommended.

Angas Plains is such a local gem. Fantastic wines and fabulous food. We went for dinner and live music. We were certainly not disappointed, we all had a great time. We ordered pizza, chips and spring rolls, everything was delicious. If you’re looking for a brilliant night out with food, wine and great vibes Angas Plains is the place to go for sure. Will definitely be going to the next event

Booked into Angas Plains for lunch and was disappointed with the whole experience. No one to show us to our table upon arrival. No table service. Had to line up to order food and drinks amongst people wine tasting. Slow service.1.5 hours wait for food delivery . Pizza was tasteless. Very disorganized. Public holiday and fully booked and staff had no idea what they were doing. Even had to explain what gravy was.

Hi kiwirob2015 I am sorry you were disappointed with your experience however we are not operating a serviced restaurant. We are a family business which is a cellar door and wine tastings is a large part of the experience for most of our visitors. It was very busy over the holiday weekend, however we have it clearly printed in our menus that we request orders to be made at the bar. I understand that after we were made aware that you expected some table service we did make one of our staff available to your table. Gravy was ordered but it was not on our menu and not normally available in our kitchen so she was not expecting the request. It did delay your meal to make it especially for your group. We hope you enjoyed the vineyard views.

We went for lunch at the Angas Plains wine, enticed by a special offer that gave you a discount on a plate of tapas.

First, the positives:it's a great location, out in the countryside, surrounded by vines. There's an inside bar and a restaurant, with an outdoor seating area in the shade. We were part of a large group and everyone voted the wines delicious and quite reasonably priced for the quality on offer. The waiting staff, when we saw them, were pleasant and helpful.

Now for the negatives. Nobody took any notice of our arrival, despite the fact that we'd booked. We found the table for ourselves and then members of our party went into the bar to order. They were ignored for a full 10 minutes while the owner chatted to a group who were having a wine tasting session. It took fully half an hour just to place our order and be served with a glass of wine.

We then waited another half hour for the "tapas" to be brought out though this turned out to be a mixture of Italian, Greek and Japanese dishes. This turned out to be merely a basket of warmed bread, a small dish of olive oil, a small dish of dukkah and about a dozen olives - altogether a meagre helping for 6 people. Everything was of good quality but there was simply insufficient oil for the quantity of bread provided.

After a further half hour wait, we were then brought small plates containing one small prawn dumpling, one chicken skewer and one small filo pastry containing spinach and feta per person. This is simply not value for money even at the discounted price and if we'd been paying the full price of $20 per head for this, I would have been distinctly upset. The service was very disorganised and I just don't understand why it took the kitchen so long to produce relatively simple dishes which had in any case, been pre-booked.

So,do go if you want to sample good wines at reasonable prices in a lovely setting, but beware of eating there. And they really need to do something about their customer care.

Drop in and see Judy and try their lovely wines. They have some great specials on for multiple purchases. While you there have a meal from the extensive menu. While eating have a glass of wine. Lovely place.
