Picturesque photo spot. Worth the drive, fees and walk? Maybe?
Is the waterfall beautiful? Yes. It’s a long drive up the winding and narrow road to get to the parking/hotel/restaurant area. Once there, the path up to the waterfall viewing is a lot of steps. Hiking shoes are suggested. It’s a simple up and back path from the waterfall. The prices are a little steep for the time you are in the “park” to access the waterfall path. I could go either way if asked if it was worth it. Great view of course but way less of spending some time in nature and more of a corral to the view point where you have to patiently wait your turn to get to the spot for photos. Your call.

    Beautiful walk
Loved this walk. We parked at the parking below the waterfall which was free. Then we walked to the shop, it cost €3 each for a ticket. The walk was 20 minutes and consisted of many steps (I recommended wearing walking boots or similar). The walk was beautiful and the view was even better. Definitely recommend

    Stunning Savica and Bohinj!
We had been advised to visit the waterfall by our car rental company and we were so happy we did!! The waterfall is just spectacular. We had visited Lake Bled earlier in the day, which was very pretty but Bohinj is the place! The drive to Bohinj was amazing! The mountains and forests are something we’ll never forget. The walk to the waterfall is enjoyable and we were lucky that it wasn’t very busy at all. The natural beauty of the surroundings will take your breath away!

Let's start by saying that you have to pay 4 euros for parking and 3 euros pro person to visit the waterfall, so be prepared to spend some money.
Besides this, you should be aware that you need to walk about 20 minutes to see the waterfall, and you can see the waterfall just at the end of your walk.
When you get at the end of the path, you can see the waterfall, but you have just a short time to see and take picture, because you have to leave the space for other people behind you.
So, for a family of three people: you pay 13 euros, you walk 20 minutes and you can see the waterfall for a couple of minutes.
From my point of view, it's not worthy, considering that the waterfall is not even the most beautiful I have ever seen.

To see this waterfall you have to pay an entry ticket of 3 euro per person in a souvenir shop right in the middle of path. Amazing.
To reach the top you have to climb a concrete stair in the middle of the forest. Idyllic.
Once you reach the destination you'll have to share this spectacular view with other tens of tourists with cameras, rudeness and flip flops.

Slovenia has indeed many more beautiful and natural waterfalls to see.

The waterfall can be reached by a path from the restaurant. After a short journey, an entrance fee is paid at the entrance to the trail and a path with many steps and turns leads through a beautiful forest along a ravine with a mountain stream ascends to the waterfall itself. Just don't expect to be alone at it, you will take turns with other visitors at the view of the waterfall.

You can reach the beginning of ascent towards the waterfall by car (or bicicle). It’s just about 20min walk up from the parking lot, the path is steep at times but it’s maintained and it’s stairs all the way. You can have refreshments at the hut on the parking lot. The entrance fee is 3 eur but after 4pm is free.

You start the hike by Koča pri Savici. If you come by car, you must pay the parking lot 4€ for 3 hours. Than you also pay the entrance fee (I think it's about 3€ per person). The walk is not long-20minutes, but there are a lot of stairs to get to the top. During the path are many resting places with benches and the path is in the shadows the whole time. When you come to the top the view is deffinitely worth the effort.

Car park is 5 EUR and that is the minimum fee for 3 hours...We would have expected to see Nature's beauty at this price, but then there is AN OTHER FEE for the entrance which is 3 EUR per person. I'm sorry, what? Paying more than 10 EUR just to see water falling down for the rocks. Absolute nonsense. The whole Bohinj area is overpriced and we are not even in the main season.

Rip off area £5 for 3 hours parking £4 per adult to see the average waterfall, then you have to pay to go to the toilet. It’s not a real hike it’s concrete and stairs up to the water fall. In short it’s a cash trap really not what Slovenia is about for me and my family avoid. It’s not worth paying for if this is what Slovenia is going to become I simply won’t come anymore. It’s meant to be a place of natural beauty I didn’t feel like an explorer I felt like a tourist.

I completed the walking trail from Ukanc to Savica Waterfall (and back) which was a total trek but completely worth it.

If you enjoy hiking then I’d definitely recommend this trail as it’s really scenic and also very easy to navigate (the guy at the tourist info office in Ukanc said if you get lost here then you’d get lost in a supermarket).

It’s a long way to walk just to a waterfall but definitely worth it if you enjoy nature.

It can get very busy by the waterfall itself so I’d recommend going early if possible.

Quite an impressive atraction. We decided to hike to the waterfall all the way from the start of the lake, which came put to be around 9km. A little bit vhallanging since you have to climb a lot of stairs to get to the mountain, but the views were definitely worth it.
