We parked in a dirt parking lot as you reach the main malecon area near the water. The lot says fee parking and a ton of cars are parked there. We ate at a restaurant and shopped for trinkets. Went back after a few hours and found our car broken into. Thankfully nothing of value taken and nobody was hurt.... More

The Malecon here does not compare to say the Mazatlan Malecon. It is a crammed mixture of restaurants, fisheries (below), and tourist trinket stuff plus miscellaneous shops. I tend to go off the main drag, where there are smaller places to eat, quieter, and less congested. Parking is terrible, as is just getting through the Malecon by car. During festivals,... More

Great time in the Old Port... Lots to see and many great places to stop for a cold one, The Satisfied Frog, Tekila Bar, Boo Bar, breakfast at Maria Bonitas at the Vina del Mar hotel. Just cruise the malecon. Fun shopping with a view!

... a stroll along the malecon is always part of the program. It's a nice place, especially at night when groups of musicians perform live music. The downside is the overly aggressive armada of storefront owners trying to lure you inside their hole-in-the-wall stores. I consider myself a very experienced Mexico traveler, so I'm saying this as someone who is... More

This is what there is in Puerto Penasco, other than the beaches. It was a fun place to hang out. In the off season, it's not crowded. The restaurants were good.

The old port is a good place to walk around, check out souvenirs, or eat at a restaurant. It is by the beach and is referred to as the "Malecon". As other people have stated there are a lot of vendors there to get your business. If you are uninterested simply say "no thanks" and keep walking. Nice to walk... More

If you like to be harassed by street vendors, menu holders, restaurant owners, fish sellers, this is your place, but definitely not mine. Been coming here for 15 years and we avoid this place like the plague. Not sure why they think this can be appealing to tourists of any kind but it must because they keep doing it. I... More

This is always a great place to find souvenirs, haggle on prices, and find a tasty taco. So many options! Pro tip: if you're looking for something in particular, make your way through all the shops to find the best one.

Great shopping with fun bartering. Awesome fresh seafood restaurants all over the place. A must visit when I'm the area.
