My sister and I bought my dad the steam train driving experience for his 70th birthday. He had a wonderful day. We all went along to watch and the kids enjoyed looking at the garden miniature railway and riding on the diesel train. My dad...More

Sunday lunch railway trip booked for my father-in-law. We entered the train at 12.30 & came away at 4.30pm. The food was good, service needed a little improvement, but I understand this is early days for this new venture at colne valley.

A fabulous place that needs public support to keep up their improvements. Helpful, interesting and friendly volunteers run this piece of local history. Please visit when you can. Take time to ask and you'll be surprised by the enthusiasm and interesting responses you'll get!

This railway has only a track of a mile long with the station in the middle so trips are short but you get engines running round. The site is having a lot of work to improve it done at the moment. There is a lot...More

We spent a fantastic few hours with our grandson here. Steam train rides. Model railways big and small. Mini train rides. The only disappointment was that their cafe had closed the week before.

Having found their website and felt our 5 and 3 year old grandchildren might like this venue we went along yesterday, driving from Chelmsford. A very warm day too. On arrival you are 'greeted' by a long dirt track followed by a field which is...More

Decided to take my 3 year old as he loves trains and thought going on a vintage train as well as the miniature railway and model railway would be a good experience. How disappointed we were though, the miniature railway and cafe wasn’t open (no...More

If I’m honest we felt a little bit disappointed following our evening aboard the royal coach on the Pullman train. This was a birthday gift for my partner. You are asked to arrive promptly but instead of welcoming everyone to the on-train bar to enjoy...More

There are usually both full size and miniature trains to ride on, although the miniature railway cannot run if it is raining. There are also interactive model and garden railways, plus many other attractions.
