About
This is a classic Sunday outing along a track with beautiful scenery all the way. You walk the gravel road to Landåsvatnet and turn left towards Skjepåsen just before the lake. At the next crossing there is a small-scale map and a signboard towards Eventyrskogen- a unique visual presentation of Norwegian fairytales along the forest road. This is a very popular goal, especially for all children. At the next crossing, turn right back to Landåsvatnet to complete the roundtrip.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Eventyrskogen is afree tour that combines exploring, hiking and folklore education. The kids (5, 8 and 12) totally forgot they were hiking, and ran ahead to find new figures. On the top of the hill they have set aside a good space for eating, with benches and grills - bring your own stuff. There is no entrance fee, but you are encouraged to donate 50 NOK using Norwegian payment service Vipps.

Camping/backpacking at the Fairytale forrest. A big forrest area with fairytale sculptures and lakes. Had a great stay with typical western Norway weather, sun, rain, sun, rain everyday. A short walk to Leirvik centrum with restaurants and shops. A nice place to camp if you want to get away from the citynoise. Didnt see any animals (we camped for a week or so), but the forrest is beautiful and huge with small rivers and lakes.

Had a great trip in the Fairy Forest with schoolchildren and adults. Simple and straight track.
Good opportunities for rest and brought food. Voluntary payment - hope everyone pays, because it is the place worth it!

The forest is totally magic. I visited at a sunny day and the sun inbetween the trees were amazing.
The "dolls" and their houses are amazingly made and built. Sadly these are just some 10m of the 4,7 km.
The forest is amazing all by itself tho.

A really nice walk thru enchanted forests, we wholeheartedly enjoyed this 1,5 Hours. The fairytales are well displayed and fitting. Recommended nature walk (and it’s free of charge)

We went to The Fairytale Forest in very bad weather. It was really nice experience. Even the weather wasn't an issue.
Unfortunately the place is hard to find.

Nice area for a walk, great tracks for running, walking or biking. The Eventyrskogen area was quite fun, probably a nice goal for smaller kids.

This place is fantastic, for children especially. There are trolls and googly eyes everywhere, and tons of references to Norwegian tales. The hike is a beautiful one, and the creativity shown on the sides of the trail is pretty incredible; I'm glad none of it has been stolen or vandalized, or ruined by the rain. This is a great, decorative place to go running, and an even greater place to take your kids on a walk.
