It's a beautiful place that does not have the horrible high rise hotels - just family style fun, surfing and great beach bars along the whole stretch.

Lots of Business Bros on holiday here. The waves are super if you're into surfing but pretty rough if you just want to swim. Prepare to overhear lots of phone conversations about people's "roles" and "significant growth" and "how to connect with clients on a...More

We just go to watch and eat and drink. We love the beach, the surf, the surfers, and the restaurants and palapa bars. La Punta in particular is frequented by surfers, and the restaurants and bars are very reasonably priced.

Big Barrels, cheap food, cold beer. One of the most amazing waves in the world. The surrounding bays and little towns are worth the 2$ bus ride

Playa Zicatella is just one beach of 4 in Puerto Escondido. It is the main surfing beach (mican pipeline) not a fishing beach. I have never seen any violence in Puerto Escondido and have been going there for over 20 years
