The pools can be visited on your own if you have a vehicle, and likewise the cave... Have to pay good attention to maps and limited signage. Cave is not spectacular, but if you are staying in the area, definitely worth a visit.
Great place to cool off, and so many different pools, even if there are some folks didn't feel too busy (although there were only small vehicles when we were there, no tours). Was a great stop to cool off after visiting Caracol.
