Firstly, Alan and Mick (I think!) were absolutely amazing. The day was looking a bit grim with the sea lions not having woken up due to the colder weather. We headed to the dolphins and everyone jumped in. I apparently have a fear of open water and didn’t realise it until just that time. Alan gave me a floatation device and Mick made sure I stayed with the group. Overwhelmed, I jumped back onto the boat and Alan did everything he could to make sure I saw the dolphins and to calm me down. Heading to the sea lions, this was a lot calmer and clearer, so I was okay to get back on the (sea) horse and dive back in. This was a truly unforgettable experience, with Mick making sure I got up close and personal with Beryl, the sweetest little sea lion. It’s odd to have complete trust in people you just met, but as an anxious person who isn’t a strong swimmer, they did everything they could to help me, and I sincerely thank them. Wetsuits were top quality and warm sugary drinks were served alongside biscuits to pep us up. You can tell that this fantastic business truly and authentically cares for the marine life, and I will recommended anyone and everyone to visit.…

My teenage daughter and I headed out with Alan on the boat around Baird Bay. The Bay itself is a remote sanctuary for birds and wildlife. There are pelicans walking around the beach and numerous other bird species. The tour started with a short boat ride to a small island at the mouth of the bay. There was an Australian Sea Lion colony sitting on the shores and up on the rocks, plus some in the water. The reef around the island provides a perfect place to sit close by and watch them play in the shallow waters. Our swim was magical, the group went into one of the deeper pools where one of the extrovert sealions was playing. The young guy helping Alan interacted with the sealion, then we all joined him for a swim. The sealions are so friendly and playful, they come right up to you, brushing against you, very curious about the humans. There's no fear at all. Later in the trip we went to further out to the mouth of the bay, before it opened into the sea. It was very choppy but that's where the pod of dolphins were swimming so most of us jumped in and swam near the dolphins. They were wild creatures, swimming fast around us but keeping their distance. When you watched them underwater it was incredible to see their speed and agility. It was a great experience too. Thanks to Alan and his team for making it possible.…

Alan is a fantastic tour operator, and the seals and dolphins love him therefore you don’t have a chance to miss them. Good quality of wetsuits, googles and snorkels. This experience was the best one during our Eyre Peninsula trip. Highly recommended!

Wow!! What an incredible experience. We were unfortunate in that we got some pretty bad weather. Cold wind and rain. However, it didn’t even matter. It was still the most INCREDIBLE experience!! Swimming with the sea lions and pods of dolphins! These guys go above and beyond to make sure you have had an amazing time & not because you have paid but because they just seem to love what they do & it really shows! My partner and I couldn’t wipe the smiles of our faces - & still can’t when we talk about it. Thanks so much Baird Bay ocean eco experience, such value for money and I would recommend to anyone! - I will also be back!…

Five Stars. Better then I could imagine. Staff and guides were fantastic and friendly. Had to wait a hit to find seals that were ready to swim but guides were very informative and well worth the wait. My 7 year old son and 93 year old grandma was on this tour and well worth it for all. I will recommend anyone and everyone that comes this way.…

Thanks for the review, I'm pleased that the family had a great time. And thank you to all the others who have taken time to review the tour, word of mouth is what keeps us going. We get a buzz out of everyone on the boat having a good time, enjoying the marine mammals , and going away with a newfound appreciation the lives these amazing animals lead. And the fact that they have time to spend with us and give us so much pleasure still amazes me to this day. In running this business, we have the best of both worlds, generally happy customers, and an amazing connection with the marine mammals of Baird Bay. Doesn't get any better than this!
