Paul and the team gave us superb service, making it easy to change our booking date due to cyclone Gabrielle and providing a free cycle when our own bike had an electrical fault. The camp at the end of day one of the Timber Trail was fantastically well equipped. Pureora forest is a must see.

Camp Epic is an amazing place to stay, peaceful, the only noise is the birdlife, very clean and tidy and extremely well set up. The communal kitchen is open air and contains everything you need for a fantastic stay. The bathroom areas are amazing, brilliant showers, flush toilets and amazing vanity set up. The tents are sturdy, the beds very comfortable and warm, with extra blankets and crispy clean sheets. The ambience of an amazing camp fire lit for you at night, with complementary marshmallow to toast is the icing on the cake of an amazing place to stay.
Paul and his sons run an amazing facility, go well beyond what would be expected, and have adapted to Covid restricitons for their clients by ferrying us all 9km up the track we had to ride up and back on due to the top of the timber trail being in L3 at the time of our booking.
I could not recommend Camp Epic highly enough.
Book now and enjoy your stay.
kind regards
Sue

Used Epic for our group of 4 to transfer us and 2 of us hired bikes. Communication was always excellent and advice was spot on. Epic camp was full so we camped at the DOC camp and Epic transported our gear there. They were having their busiest weekend ever (Easter) but everyone we spoke to were awesome and friendly as. The hired bikes were high quality (gave me bike envy TBH). Thanks for a rad ride!

Despite the many occasions where we wanted to quit because of the pain, because it was HARD on day 1, we powered through and made it to the camp, taking the time to stop along the way to walk to the summit and take in the spectacular views of Lake Taupō.
We arrived at Camp Epic to a massive round of applause and congratulations which really lifted the spirits - the campfire before calling it a night was a brilliant touch.
Day 2 was 100x easier than the first, with views to die for. All and all it was a brilliant weekend, and one we’ll do again once we forget how much our muscles hurt by the end of it.
Highly recommend this adventure to our friends and family.

A beautiful, fun ride through varying landscapes.
Camp Epic is very comfortable and has excellent facilities.
The camp manager, Jesse, was very helpful and interesting.
We toasted the supplied marshmellows over a camp fire, the shower was partially open air with views of the bush, the tents were great, comfy beds, screened from insects, mosquito coils provided and excellent bathroom and kitchen facilities.
Paul transported us to the start of the cycle and met us at the end. He told us about the ride and the history of the area, as well as interesting characters in the area.
We felt very safe as if anything had gone wrong on our ride, Paul was only a phone call away and there is a road into most of the trail.
Definitely recommend Epic Cycle Adventures!!!

Booked Camp Epic as a birthday gift for my husband. Off the scale amazing! Appreciated the comms ahead of time with clear instructions and directions. The camp is truly amazing and the facilities are very considered, clean and comfortable. The camp is so isolated you feel like your worlds away, but have everything you could possibly need. The team have really thought about every detail to make you feel comfortable. Didn’t want to leave!! Friendly service. Knowledgeable on cycle route. Super organised!!

Paul & his team are absolutely fantastic. It was an excellently smooth process from start to finish, the hire bikes were in tip top condition. He transferred our luggage for us to the campsite & the campsite was brilliant. Although it doesn't look like anything too snazzy from the outside, the showers were superb, all the cooking pots/pans/knives/cutlery were brand new making everything just so easy. The setup makes it easy for people to meet each other or have their own privacy if they wish. We also loved the trail itself. Highly recommend!

Epic cycles are so well organised and professional. You leave your vechile at the end of the Timber Trail. They collect with their shuttle, where Paul takes you to the start of the trail whilst sharing history and top tips. You arrive after day 1 of cycling to a very hospitable Joshua and his dog Meeka. All your groceries are in the kitchen for you to unpack and your clothes are in your tent. Everything you can think of is at the camp. So clean, neat and welcoming. Stunning bathrooms with hot water. The kitchen facilitates are excellent with a gas bbq, gas stovetops, a wood oven and fire pit you can cook over. Loved the small touches of warm poncho’s, warm water bottles and marshmallows. Beds are warm for the cold nights. Breakfast is diy with different breads, eggs, various cereals and spreads. Even had a plunger for our own coffee! No rush to start your second day of cycling. Leaving our bags again to be shuttled back to the end with our Arriving back to our vechile, Paul was awaiting us showing us where he had a station to wash our bicycles. All our bags were already there to be loaded. Such an amazing experience from start to finish with this family run business. All so friendly, pleasant and interested in your ride experiences. Can not recommend them enough! Will definitely be back and use them again! Great experience, thanks guys!

Classic MTB ride in the heart of Pureora Forrest with stunning native forest the way it should be. Epic handle transfer to the start take your kit to half way, ride 40km to their camp. Those beds are incredible and the showers even more so. BYO food and grog and cook it up in their covered kitchen area. They provide breakfast. All your gear then transported back to the finish at the 82k mark. Superb operation no hesitation to thoroughly recommend.
