Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This time I was on vacation, but in the past I had lived in Morelia for 1 years. I don't have a big sweet tooth so some of the things I pass on.
I did buy a beautiful coffee mug ( rustic style), with butterflies on it. Some of the vendors had prices on items that helped, you don't have to bargain for everything. They wrap it up really good in newspaper=no chips or breakage.

This is the market where you can buy all kinds of handmade Mexican candies as well as handmade crafts. You will find all kinds of textiles, leather goods, Hurache sandals, earrings, beaded bracelets, the list goes on and on. Fantastic place. Do not miss seeing it while you are in town and be sure to have lots of pesos to spend!

This place showcases all the local candies, arts and crafts Michoacan is known for. This is a great place to buy souvenirs and to buy a few things for yourself. Highly recommended

If only you could actually learn something in these places about the products but no just shop after shop selling the same same things interspersed with all the same rubbish you see from Chiapas and China. Right down the back there was a leather shop and a couple of toy shops that held some interest but it was all the same crappy stuff you see everywhere. We had plenty of money to spend but bought nothing. Sad really.

This is a big store that sells mostly sweets and a few souvenirs and crafts. The "museum" of artisans about 10 blocks away is a much better place to see and buy craft items. What's outstanding about this market is that everyone seems to be selling the same sweets. Ate, the ubiquitous gelatinous fruit candy (goes great with manchego cheese) is sold at at least 100 different stalls. The crafts on sale are mostly small items. It's worth a look if you have a sweet tooth.

Maybe not the cheapest place to buy art crafts in Michoacan, but it’s still very cheap and they have a lot of variety. The best thing about this place, I think, is the location. If you are looking to buy sweets, I advice you to ask for prices around the different stalls (some have better deals). Also some of them take credit card (not all, better bring cash if you can). Good place to buy postcards, T-shirts and other souvenirs.
