this beach has white sand, is not threatening most of the time with undertows like some other beaches. Not crowded. Snorkeling good around the rocks. Lots of fish. Clean bathroom. We went back several times. Close to San Jose del cabo.

Palmilla Beach is a lovely, small beach that is protected by a rock out cropping which makes swimming a pleasure. The beach is busiest on Sunday when families gather to picnic and swim. There is parking and the City has done a great job of...More

For 50 pesos we caught the bus from San Jose Del Cabo to Playa Palmilla. The beach is about a 15 minute walk, on a sidewalk, down a gradual hill, through an upper end residental area from the bus stop. There are a few palapas...More

I worry about swimming in the ocean but this beach was sheltered and I felt safe enough although I didn't see lifeguards in the chairs. There were a few vendors wandering around but they weren't pushy or intrusive.

After leaving Cabo this beach was a welcome change. Great parking lot and bathrooms. Quiet. Nice for swimming. A must do.

Conditions are variable here. We knew that going in. The overall beach itself was great, though there was some construction, it was only a minor delay going in. Lifeguards on duty, facilities, and sandy beach made for a nice start. But the snorkeling (the reason...More

Our children wanted to go to a swimmable beach while in San Jose del Cabo. Everyone recommended Playa Palmilla. Very nice. There were even umbrellas and all water sport items for rent!

No, but there fishermen and vendors renting chairs/umbrellas so it's not like it's a deserted beach and if you got into trouble there would be no one to yell to but there was no formal lifeguards that I recall.
