Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

We just played Cabo Real this week and the front nine is in horrible condition! Not only that but apparently they did not notify my resort or the concierge at my resort that 3 holes were such bad shape that they aren’t really playable plus a few other holes aren’t in great shape either. Obviously, Cabo Real GC doesn’t practice or know the meaning of the word transparency. We were told at the golf course that they had some holes under repair because they had a sprinkler problem but what are you going to do when you’ve already traveled a few thousand miles and booked your tee times and other activities with your friends in advance.
In my opinion, Cabo Real just doesn’t live up to the standards that it did when it first opened years ago. I’ve been going to Cabo every year for more than 20 years and usually play Cabo Real, Palmilla and Puerto Los Cabo’s. I’ve played most the other golf courses in Cabo too, so I have a good idea of what golf courses are available and the conditions of the courses in the area. If you are going to Cabo over the next couple of months and are an avid golfer, don’t waste your money on Cabo Real GC. If you do, you’ll probably be really disappointed.

Avoid. Front 9 should be closed. Total mess. Large dead areas due to what they are saying was an "irrigation issue." Looks like they actually installed a new sprinkler system on the front nine and are still charging people full price even though it's virtually unplayable. The greens are fine but the fairways are a total mess. There is no mention of this on the website or at check-in where you pay full price. You are first told about it by the starter standing on the first tee. As others have said, this feels like a rip off situation and it is clearly not right. Shame on you Cabo Real.

We have been playing this course every year for over 10 years. It is usually well kept. Due to the pandemic they quit watering and maintaining the course. When I contacted Questro to book a package they said all of their courses were in excellent condition. Unfortunately this is not the case. If you are planning on playing in 2020, I would recommend Campestre and Peurto Las Cabos.

Cabo Real
Would you pay $$$$ to feel cheated and ripped off! This is how we felt today playing Cabo Real. The course should have been closed. The front 9 was not playable due to a previous irrigation problem and still being worked on as we played. The fairways had large areas of sand and what grass remains was completely dried out. There were ugly rows of sod where they laid new lines. The traps had deep mushy sand that had loads of footprints. Probably from golfers as frustrated as us!
The back nine was bearable but also dry tbut by then we felt cheated. This is not an inexpensive track. So we left feeling cheated out of a great day of golf.
We went to the pro shop following our round and there was no
apologies or refunds. They got our money and it’s our tough luck.
I suggest you avoid being a victim at Cabo Real!

My husband and I played at 7:30 am on a Wednesday morning in early May 2023. We were paired with another couple and pace of play was about 4 hours which is typical. The course was in decent shape, gas golf carts which area always noisy and slow. Aside from that, the course played okay. It's a decent course, not our favorite of the ones we played during our four rounds, but a solid golf experience.

We play Cabo Real today and were very disappointed. The front 9 was in such bad condition that it should be closed. While they are apparently trying to instal irrigation the holes were largely unplayable. The back 9 was slightly better but still dry. All other courses we have played at Cabo are better. To make the situation even worst when we finished we were asked whether we wanted to attend a time share presentation. I seriously wouldn’t waste my time or money again. You have been warned.

Nice course design and some great views. Greens were in fine shape but the fairways and other areas showed some wear and tear. The whole place looks like it needs a bit of TLC and investment. We were met by an attentive starter but that was the last we saw of course personnel. We played in 4 hours and 40 minutes, waiting essentially every hole. Never saw a Marshall the entire time.

Very nice course for the price. I went in 2021 during a couples trip and I took my son in 2022 during our family vacation. Both 9s are a lot of fun and provide a nice combination of ocean, desert, and mountain scenes. Underrated course!

Played this course for the first time March 3rd 2021 and March 5th 2021. We played it twice and I am glad we did.
Little pricey at 190.00 a round, but we had a great time.
Service was excellent and the course was in GREAT shape. We had a blast. And because of COVID, we were about the only ones on the course. No waiting.
The course has beautiful views of the Sea of Cortez and the mountains on every hole.
The course itself was in great shape. I have never seen so many people working on a course. But they never got in your way.
The course is challenging but not so hard the average golfer would not want to play.
We played the white tees both times. The blues and golds would make it more challenging. There were some professional and fun holes. Again, We had a bast.
Drinks and food after wards were great. Service excellent.
Would love to lay this course again. You will not be disappointed.

Nice course. Definitely not worth $288 green fee. You can play several top courses in the world for that. What made this place was the service. Good service team. Bar, starters greens keepers. All great. Would play again but it should be at least 150 less

They do and the clubs weren’t bad at all. Think I had a little older set of Titleist

Just wondering if you know which holes had the bathrooms/snack shacks? Do you think they will add more when they finish the courses (other 18 holes)? If so where?
Written 14 April 2016
I think the bathrooms were on 5 and 13. Don't remember seeing any snack shacks
