- Gardengel-IoWWest Sussex, United Kingdom1,014 contributionsAllow time to shopA Short but interesting glass blowing demo culminating in a drunken turtle. Large shop area but unfortunately not enough time to shop properly. It was good to hear that most if not all the glass used is from recycling bottles from the area. Some beautiful stained glass windows and floor work. Wish we had been there longer.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 7 December 2023
- tinaNtravelSan Jose, California2,018 contributionsAmazing glass work created while you watchWe walked to The Glass Factory and it may be easier for most people to take an Uber. The area becomes “not so nice” rather quickly and for most of the walk. At the Glass Factory, they have seats/bleachers where you can sit and watch the glass makers work. You can also walk around and purchase some of the very many already created glasswork. There is also a very pretty area inside, under the dome, for pictures. If you have the time, this is worth the visit.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 15 January 2024
- TraciSRiverside, Missouri90 contributionsEnjoyable outingTook a cab here from our hotel on a cloudy/rainy morning for something to do. Was recommended to go early to observe them blowing the glass into various shapes, wares, etc. Was interesting for us. There are tons of things to purchase so allow time to look. Bought a drinking glass and a heart for about $20 USD - little overpriced but that's what you get at a place like this. Other places in town sell hearts but I didn't see as many cool drinking glasses at other places as I did here. Allow maybe an hour here. We liked it.Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 18 February 2024
- Miriam G24 contributionsMakes you respect glassWatch the artists blowing glass. Amazing. Simple place. Right in front of your eyes. They made a turtle worth tequila bottle and a sombrero. I can sit hours just watching them.Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 20 May 2024
- rhondawood39Sullivan, Missouri43 contributionsGlass blowing at its best!We took a taxi from our resort to the glass factory. Admission was free. The glassblowers were amazing to watch using all recycled glass to create beautiful pieces. We learned about the craft by asking them questions and showed our appreciation by leaving a tip. We took some great photos. The gift shop was a bit pricey but worth it after seeing the artisans make each piece.Visited July 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 16 July 2024

The glassblowers of Cabo put on a show when you visit the glass factory. They make a turtle wearing a sombrero drinking tequila and a hummingbird drinking from a flower right in front of your eyes; all in about eight minutes each. Pretty cool to watch. Worth a quick visit!

We went via taxi. Did not require a tour expense. And the visit to the factory is free no admission cost. Go in the morning as they shut down the kilns by 2 PM. You can be right there standing amongst the glass blowers and they will make A variety of different things. For the tours they do the same glass turtle thing over and over but when you go on your own you get to see it all. They have a shop there that they also sell their finished where’s that you can purchase if you so choose

The Glass Factory was UNBELIEVABLE! The guys are so artistic! Amazing to watch.
Plus you all in for free-leave a tip of you choose and they have a "shop" that sells glad made there.
I wanted to go there but all to scheduled tours seemed to include stops like tequila tasting or jewelry shops. We just spoke with our concierge/doorman about how to get there He got us a taxi who drove us to 2 different glass blowing factory's plus took us to the marina and shopping etc. He just parked and waited till we were ready to move on- Then finally back to resort Great day doing what we wanted and at our own pace for about the same if not less money than a short city tour cost

I have a large collection of recycled glass and plastic plates on my wall and I was excited to add a few pieces from the glass factory in Cabo. I paid for a taxi, expecting to be wowed like I am when visiting the glass factory in Playa Del Carmen, (where a good portion of my pieces come from). I was not at all impressed. The plates were very basic and lacked the vibrant colors and variation I am used to. There were four employees at the front of the store and they didn't seem the least bit interested in helping me, even though I was one of only a few customers in the store. I did see one small plate with a unique shape and asked the man closest to me how much it cost. He told me it was around $139. or $159. US dollars. I did say, wow, because I have never paid over $60 for my largest plates in Playa Del Carmen and they are beautiful. I know prices have gone up in the last year since our last visit to Mexico, but that is crazy expensive for the quality and size of the plates in Mexico. I walked around the store to look at other merchandise likes glasses, etc., but they were more expensive than the same glasses in the US and the merchandise was FILTHY dirty. Gross. As I was leaving, I saw another glass plate and considered biting the bullet just to have a plate from Cabo. I asked the same man if this piece was the same price and he just ignored me. The girl behind the counter, asked him what I said and he said in English, with a laugh, "I don't know." They all laughed, as he definitely knew what I asked and then he left the store without ever answering me. Shortly thereafter, I walked out too- empty handed and very disappointed in this place. They probably turn on the charm for large groups, but certainly not for solo shoppers. Before leaving, I did ask one of the girls behind the counter the name of the man I spoke with and I told her what he did was very rude and I would not be giving them my business as a result. There were no apologies, but she did give me his name. I chose to show a little grace and not use it in this review. I also showed her a photo of my wall and told her I wish I could have added a piece from their store. There were four employees and I was one of two shoppers in the entire store and they could not be bothered. That's why I'm saying, don't bother. Buy something really pretty from Home Goods or Amazon , or give your business to a smaller local business in Cabo or San Jose who will actually appreciate your business. NOT impressed.

Our Shore excursion took us to The Glass Factory. We presentation they did was fantastic. Made a cute little Frog. We had a really nice time. The items for sale had something to be considered and they were pretty pricey.

We stumbled into The Glass Factory on our way to Hwy 1 via Waze. The entrance with its huge cactus gate posts caught our attention and we pulled in. What a delightful experience. First we sat on the bleachers and watched as the glass artisans did their thing. We were only about 15 feet from the furnaces. Next we perused the shelves for at least 30 or 40 minutes. Racks and racks of floor to ceiling shelving showcased glasses of every size and description. We selected a matching set of highball glasses that looked like specialty glasses from Williams Sonoma or Pottery Barn, but at a fraction of the cost. We would have bought more, including a beautiful Nativity set; however, shipping was not available and we had no way to transport glassware on the airplane. When you are in Cabo, take the time to find this hidden gem!

A whistle stop tour of the place with a look at the skills needed to create the beautiful pieces on sale at this factory was the order of the day for us. The glass that is used is recycled and the pieces on offer were diverse and beautiful. The men work under extreme conditions and it looked very very hot!!! Lovely place with gorgeous windows on the entrance too.

We finally found it. Watching the glass blowers was so interesting. We bought several items which were more expensive than from beach vendors, however, we knew they were made locally. The downside was the smell. The factory is across the street from the sewage treatment facility. Not too pleasant but love our glass.

This place might be a tourist trap...
Still it's very impressive. The skills on display from these craftsman with their uncanny ability to work fast and accurately with molten glass and turn items out is very impressive. Like everything else in Cabo, this place is not what I would call inexpensive.

I come straight from my hotel.is there a charge to go in?
Written 16 July 2019
No charge to go in, it's a store as well as a factory. If you have an opportunity to see one of the staff members make a piece of glass work, I recommend it. It;s amazing! It will help you to appreciate all the glass blown items they sell in their shop.

Hello,
Is there a charge to go in? I come straight from my hotel
Written 16 July 2019
Free of charge. I’d leave a tip of $5-10 usd in the tip jar though. It’s customary. I also bought a handful of glass blown stir sticks. Total cost for 7 beautifully unique glass blown stir sticks and tip=$26 usd for three people. Bring a bottle of water FYI. It gets hot in there. Imagine a garage in the summer. I loved the glass factory. It was not at all what I expected and nothing like I’ve ever seen. Such an odd place but I love it. The stir sticks made great gifts.

Hi, Beth. What would you like to know about this attraction?
My husband and I want to be able to participate in making our own cup or vase like these people said they did. What do I have to do to be able to do this? Is there a special day or time to make this happen?
Written 13 October 2017
I would recommend contacting the company directly to ask if you can do this. They have several apprentices there that they are teaching daily. I would like to think that they would accommodate guests if arranged beforehand.

I received the wrong package. I got a mixture of a pitcher, glasses, art glass where I ordered 8 margarita glasses. I took it to UPS and they said as I had opened it it would cost about $125.00to return it so I opened the objects which I don't care for.

I would not recommend walking. I am unsure where the dock is located but I would recommend a cab.
