This was our third cooking experiences with Issi and his wonderful staff/ family. They treat you so well, the food you make and then eat is delicious. And, of course the home made margaritas top off the flavor fest. We will go back again next year, hopefully with our family when we revisit Cabo.
( side note: there is not one shred of salesmanship at this event, trying to sell you jewelry, tequila etc., like so many other tours in Cabo)

This is our second time with Issi and it's a great experience. From the time you meet at his new restaurant to the time you roll out saying "I'm SO full", you'll have a great time. I love going to the local markets gathering ingredients. His family welcomes you into their home then help you make wonderful fresh margaritas, salsa, pico de gallo and the recipe of the day. We'll do the class again. And make plans to eat at his restaurant.

My hubby and I did a cooking class with Papa Issy. He invited us into his house and introduced us to his family. We have done A LOT of cooking classes and this is by far the best one. Papa Issy shared all of his recipes with us, taught us about the history of Mexico, took us to local shops for produce, and shared his stories with us. He’s not only the best chef but the hospitality made us feel like we were VIPs. We are so blessed to have gotten to know him and his beautiful family. If you don’t book a class with him or his son (Juan More Taco) then you are missing LIFE. You’re welcome.

My husband and I spent the day with 3 other people visiting the various locals markets for vegetables, cheeses, meat, tortilla (masa) and sweets. We then proceeded to a lovely home where we used the ingredients we bought and made a great meal. We prepared salsas, Chile rellenos, tortillas and steak. Also learned how to make the perfect margarita and speed cut a lime. Izzy, our teacher, was informative and fun and made us feel so welcome in his family home. We have taken lots of cooking classes in other cities and this was definitely one of the best.

1st time to Cabo San Lucas - The Monday Menu class with Chef Francisco made our trip memorable and we will definitely return to take another! Our day started when we met Francisco in the market for the day's shopping. He took us through vendor by vendor and in great detail explained each item we needed and why he gets it from that specific vendor. We then followed him to his home where we were greeted by his girlfriend. His home was so inviting and set up for a table of six (our class size that day). Aprons on and it was time to get started. We began with the step by step process to the perfect margarita. Followed by a full day of step by step processes through the perfect meal which includes banana leaf wrapped tamales, three kinds of salsa, homemade tortillas, & a poblano salad that was to die for. So many flavors, so much culture wrapped in the delivery of these recipes! Francisco then ended our class with a family treasured dessert that you could tell touched his heart to share with us! I HIGHLY recommend Chef Francisco, you will not be disappointed!

My husband and I joined about 13 other people on the cooking tour with Issi. We had a fun group who were happy to all get stuck in and chat together so we were fortunate given the size of the group. We started at the Mercabo and were then taken to a fresh food market, a meat shop and then on to Issi’s home where we met his family.
We were taught how to make margaritas and encouraged to drink as many as we liked so of course a lot of people indulged! We learnt to make stuffed chillis, guacomole, tomato mole, and helped make tortillas. Although I wouldn’t say we learnt that much cooking, it was really really fun and we had a great time. It’s definitely a fun thing to do in Cabo and issi and his family are lovely! Afterwards we went to the mercabo where we had tequila tasting which was Zero pressure to buy, before heading our separate ways. Thanks Issi for a fun filled day, we were definitely full of food and tequila and we shared a lot of laughs too.

Thank you for your time in writing about your recent cooking class with Chef Issi. We have no doubts you have learned some tips and skills during this Saturday Mexican Feast class, this class is very popular as a great selection of these dishes are made with your help: sopes, gorditas, huaraches, enchiladas, queso fundido, refried beans, chiles rellenos, when putting hands-on making Mole Sauce & Chiles rellenos we know you have learned how to make all dishes including a variety of salsas, guacamole and the margaritas. You know a lot more about the making of Tequila and its variety in quality. Muchas gracias!

We were a private party of 6 with Fransisco and Edson. They picked us all up in the morning and took us shopping around Cabo.. fresh butcher, produce store, spice store and then back to our condo where they had us helping them and we were tasting Tequilla at the same time. The meal was so delicious. A wonderful experience for us all. They brought everything and cleaned up EVERYTHING! We had so much fun. Thank you again guys! I recommend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My husband and I did a shared group cooking class in with Cookin Mexico in San Jose del Cabo in May 2021. We were the only guests at that time so it turned into a private class and we got to choose what to cook that afternoon. Our instructor, Francisco Morales, was so nice and knowledgable and we had a wonderful time. And the tacos and sauces (and Margaritas) we made were delicious beyond measure. I would highly recommend anyone to do this cooking class. Francisco's family was very sweet to us and they welcomed us into their home with open arms. We hope to visit again and take another class.

We read the reviews before booking, but we had no idea the type of experience we were going to get! This has been an amazing excursion!!!! Issa took us to the market to shop for the ingredients we needed, all while giving us a history lesson. We went into the working class area which was a humbling experience. Issa took us back and we learned how to make tamales, tomatillo verde sauce, and my favorite margaritas! This was a great experience. Book with them!!

A fabulous afternoon with Issi and David. They encouraged us to get to know the other folks in our group and the setting made that easy and more fun. Delicious food, hands on with all the steps, and the attention of a great chef. A definite recommendation!

We really appreciate your good words about your recent cooking class with Chef Issi and his Team, now that you have so many Mexican recipes you have to take time to cook for your friends and family, take note we also offer these classes in Puerto Vallarta and in Playa del Carmen, and we also arrange Juan More Taco Food tours in Cabo San Lucas, San Jose del Cabo.
