Spent more than 2-hours learning about the secular and religious history of San Miguel. Visited homes, churches, cultural sites and businesses. US expat volunteer guide provided variety of interesting facts and personal comments...very friendly. 100% of tour fee supports children’s health services.

Yes, the docents seem to be mostly North American retirees with second residences there. Cash only, and it provides dental services for rural poor kids in the region.
