Whether you are a mountain biker or road cyclist you will have a great time. We did Tour 2 ((30km). Beto knows amazing trails and history. He is really interesting, personable and an amazing guide. A must do.

Beto from bici bike tours is a local who was born and raised in San Miguel de Allende. He knows the ins and out and provides information as well as a guided bike tour of this beautiful area. I traveled here with my family but decided to take a solo bike tour and he caters to your riding ability. We went on a 20 mile loop covering dry and arid landscapes to some lush areas with corn fields. He provides the bike/helmet/gloves/water and snacks but I carried my hydration backpack. I should have brought my padded chamois under pants as the terrain is bumpy but otherwise, a highlight of my time here!

Absolutely exceptional.
If you are in San Miguel, have an internet in the outdoors and want to see the REAL San Miguel, you must go for a ride with Bici Buro.

Alberto is an exceptional guide. We learned about the history, landscape and culture of the area.

If you are looking to escape the bustle of SMA and soak up some countryside tranquility, go on a tour with Bici-Burro. Beto is incredibly knowledgeable about the area and was easily able to create a custom tour based on our travel schedule. The bikes were in great shape and very capable on the terrain. The ride took us through many areas, from cruising on riverside singletrack to traversing scrubby mountainsides on donkey trails to bouncing through tiny villages on cobblestone. I highly recommend taking a tour with Beto and Bici-Burro!

The ride with Beto was a highlight of my visit to SMA. We did Ruta 2, a 30 km ride which starts at La Gruta. As mentioned by others, he is well prepared with a good bike for me, helmet, gloves, water and snacks. I asked him to stop in Atotonilco and tell me the story. Since I was the only rider and had already been to the church, he shortened it a bit but he is very entertaining in his delivery. From there we ventured out into the desert on rocky dirt roads.

The landscape is raw and barren with cactus and mesquite. It was beautiful and quiet. Beto is a skilled rider, leading me through the rocks in a slow and easy pace. He doesn't talk along the ride but answers questions if asked. There was a little single track at the end.

A couple recommendations: use the banos at Atotonilco before the ride. There won't be another "modest" opportunity until you return. Ask him to stop when you want to. He is very accommodating but may not offer to take pictures, etc. so just ask.

Beto is a great guide and you will not be disappointed.

My favorite part of our trip to San Miguel. We did the Pozos tour. Great to get out into the countryside and see everything by bicycle. Beto is great, very friendly and knowledgeable and with excellent English. He is a native of SMA and the knowledge shows. We did the tour in October which was wonderful for the wildflowers. The mines are fascinating and Beto takes you to the best spots to see them and helps you understand them and the history. Even a mezcal stop... Or two.... Or three.

Check with Beto on the difficulty. It was pretty easy for me, but the a little much for the wife. He can find something suitable for you. Bikes are in excellent shape and he has a nice van to take you to the starting point. He provides water and snacks.

A great time, both Pozos and Bici Burro are highly recommended. Looking forward to a different tour next time.

We took a 4-5hr tour including the chapel at Atotonilco, 26km of farmland around (dirt roads and trails) and finishing up at the Gruta springs. Great way to experience a different aspect of SMA. Alberto drove us out of town so we didn't have to contend with any cars. Water, sunscreen, snacks and towels/padlocks for springs included. Flexible with pace and rest breaks. Would highly recommend!

I had an incredible solo tour with Aldo (Beto's nephew). I told Beto that I wanted to see what San Miguel de Allende has to offer cyclists. The bikes and equipment are very well maintained.

We rode from their shop in San Miguel, up the historic cobblestone roads into the rural farm areas surrounding the town, we descended down single track donkey trails, made our way through farm fields up to the Sanctuary of Atotonilco and back again.

Aldo put together an incredible ride over varied terrain and was patient with me as I acclimated to the altitude.

Bici Burro does a great job of tailoring the ride to the riders and provides an incredible experience. I will definitely ride with them again if I ever return to San Miguel!

My wife and I did the 38km (4 hr) bike ride through the countryside. The bikes are very good and everything leading up to the tour was very organised well given plenty of water, sunscreen and musli bars. The owner (Berto) was conducting a hiking tour the morning of our ride so we had a younger bike guide Aldo. He was very fit, a good rider and a lovely person. During the whole trip however there was no commentary on where we were and what we were looking at. Also the safety standards when riding through the urban traffic in the town towards the end of the ride concerned us. You get to see some great scenery on the ride and I would suggest you need a reasonable level of fitness/bike experience to complete the ride.

We are road cyclists but took this opportunity to go off-road and experience San Miguel via this 6 hour cycling ride. Beto is a delight and handles all of the details. He is a kind leader and shared details about some of the special historic sights. Ending with the hot-springs is as good as it could possibly be for a fulfilling ending to a perfect day.
