Toured this site with Albert Coffee, an archaeologist who has worked on the excavation of this site for 16 years. He knows the history of the area, the peoples, the climate, the plants, the animals, in short everything. If you are going to tour this site, Highly recommended, do it with Albert.

Recently went on the Canada de la Virgen tour with Albert Coffee. The site is fascinating and made more so by Albert Coffee. He made the history of the pyramid come alive with his personal knowledge of the dig and its history. His warm, witty, intelligent and informed description of the importance and meaning of the pyramid was such an... More

Albert Coffee is a great guide who actually worked on the excavation. He is extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. The tour requires a hike of 1+ mile each way and climbing fairly steep steps at the pyramid. Well worth the effort of you're up to it. No crowds, no vendors, access closely controlled.

We toured the site with Dr. Albert Coffee. Fascinating tour and it's interesting because they are still learning more. Highly recommended.

This ancient pyramid was a fascinating half-day excursion about a half hour from San Miguel de Allende. Our guide was Albert Coffee, an expert on the site and Meso-American anthropology and archeology. He was a wealth of information about this ancient site and all of the solar and lunar implications inherent in the pyramid's construction and use. Climbing the pyramid... More

This was a nice afternoon excursion from San Miguel. I like the tour. Make sure you have an English speaking guide. Good history here. This is not Rome so don't have those expectations and you will have a good time. The down side is that you have an exceptionally long walk over hills to get to the ruins. Don't go... More
