A long, narrow shopping alley is home to the prolific handcrafts of Mexico. This market ends into the food, housewares, clothing and flower market. You may have Mexican accents for your home, but you'll surely find something else. For me it was an unusual, skirt...More

This market has absolutely everything you can imagine, from pottery to food to metal works, and everything in between. We found that we were not able to bargain very effectively here, probably because there is so much traffic, but we enjoyed walking around.

The Mercado is a great place to find everything from clothing, jewelry, souvenirs, and home decor. All merchants will negotiate prices - some reducing the price by up to 25%. Merchants are extremely friendly and speak English. U.S. dollar is accepted at a reasonable conversion...More

A great mix of the local trinkets and folk art. Plan your day and give yourself time, there is a lot to see. You need to really look and take the time if you want to find the unusual.

If you're going to buy any silver or gifts, this is the place to get the best deals than other stores around the center of town. So, it's worth visiting. :)

It's a picturesque few blocks of stalls, but you won't find much more treasure than you can in Laredo or Tijuana.

A mixture of cheap and nasty souvenirs and really nice hand crafts. The longer halls which run between Calles Loretto and Colegio are where you will find all the nick-nacks and hand-crafts. At the eastern end you can find the clothes, food and produce sections....More

We spent two weeks in SMA and frequented the Mercado de Artesanias many times. We shopped there, as most do, and brought home many beautiful linens, dishes, clothing and art, but what we really really REALLY loved was eating there! We had a couple of...More

This mercado has artisans from around the area and country. It is clean and well organized. The selection is amazing and the quality of wares above average. It is just a few blocks from the center of town.

There is an autopista that runs from Moroleon to Celaya, once in Celaya it is about one hour to San Miguel -- buses run regularly along both routes. Check the map and ask if you need specific details.
