There are a lot of churches in this town, and most are not as pretty on the outside as this one is. That said, the insides are not grand. Some strange saint statues, and things behind glass are a bit eerie. Lots of chandeliers.

You should see this old parish church at the central jardin of town with unique facade and several intricate interior spaces. It is the best in town and is located where all of the celebrations are held.

Step[ping into the many churches in Guanajuato makes one appreciate the art and skills it took to build them. One needs to see all of them that you can. Each one is different and beautiful. Worth a visit.

I recommend visiting this place, but I doubt you'll go to SMA without seeing it. What you really need to do is learn about how it was built. Amazing story.

The Gothic-style architecture is just gorgeous! There is so much history in it. It is free to go inside and it is a must-go place if you are in the area.

This was one of the most magnificent churches I've visited in my world travels. There was a service while we were touring and as a result could not walk around inside the church.

My wife and I have been coming to San Miguel at least annually for 13 years. We always visit La Parroquia (the Parish in English). But it appears that it has been cleaned and refurbished in the last year or so. Always full of many...More
