You want history, ancient alleys, great views, nearby sea, lots of eating options? Many might be tempted by the tourist trap Cinque Terre but head in the other direction from Genoa and you find Cervo, and nearby Imperia - much quieter (in September), much more...More

Cervo is a delight! A maze of tiny alleys opening into small squares. All beautifully kept. The church is beautiful outside but breathtaking inside. Definitely worth a visit

Sweet little village above the beaches allowing for a break from the heat, the narrow passages let fresh air pass but are difficult with a push chair

What a great surprise a walled town full of narrow alleyways to explore. It is just a walk away from Diano Marina (although we did take the bus one way). Highly recommened.

It's a steep climb past stone built cottages, and then stairs, quite different from the seaside towns, and well worth a visit.
