The route takes you through beautiful indigenous forest. Would like to walk through a bit more plantation as it has it's own beauty. Bridges for crossing rivers needs a lot of work and are mostly unstable and or broken. Had bed lice at the last hut (Dokolewa) which mostly ruined the last day hike. Woodbush and Waterfall hut however was... More

We started at Dokolewa and moved to Seepsteen, the trail starts as easy and becomes a bit difficulty as it starts on continuously ascend. It took us about 5 hours to complete. My girlfriend and I do quite a lot of hiking but nothing really compares to the experience we had on this hike. We chose the 2 night, Dokolewa pools trail. The first day is short so it's nice if you have quite a distance to travel. The Dokolewa hut is beautifully positioned below a waterfall and next to a river.... More

Did the 2 day hike(Dokolewa Pools Hut & Seepsteen Mule Hut)...what an amazing experience!! A bit tougher than we thought, but worth every step... Huts were clean and beautifully located. Take candles!

It was not very difficult but at some point i woulf have liked to see more indications, it is not so easy to follow, at least not for us, although we are not experienced at all in highking. But for beginners it is quite enjoyable

This is a great hike for young teenagers who like to be outdoors on a long weekend. The forest is beautiful, but most days are not too long. The three day hike is much more challenging than the two day options, and there are different places to start that alter the experience. We started with a sleepover at the Seepsteen... More

Must be one of the best hikes in South Africa. Beautiful scenery with a challenge! We started our hike at Woodbush Hut, stayed the first night at Waterfall Hut and walked the next day to Dokolewa Hut. We finished back at Woodbush Hut. The huts were very neat and we were provided with dry firewood and clean water.

I have hiked the trails in most of the forests of South Africa, and the Magoebaskloof remains one of my favourites. The Afro-montane forests are deep and old, and there is a magical element about them. The huts are great value for money, and some of the best you'll find in SA. The toilets and beds are clean, and wood... More

We used the magoebas gorge as a warm up for later walks elsewhere in SA. It was a nice walk although the trail was not really very well marked. We started at the tea house and worked our way into the gorge through indiginous forest. Lots of birds and plantlife but no wow-factor. Biggest disappointment is that the gorge is... More
