We visited the museum to get out of the heat and do some non-water activities in Playa; I found the 3D Museum of Wonders on Instagram and was intrigued by the pictures posted.
We decided to go and found it pretty cool; the museum was mostly empty when we were there which made the experience a whole lot better as we were able to take as many pictures with the murals as we wanted. We were provided a tour guide which gave us information on the murals and gave us good tips on local activities to do around Playa Del Carmen. Although we had a tour guide, the tour guide gave us the liberty to do our own thing if we wanted and didn't feel like I was being followed around either (like some reviewers have mentioned). Shoutout to our personal tour guide Vladimir which was friendly, took hundreds of photos for us, and answered our billion questions.
With the price that is being charged for admission I hope the tour guides are being payed a proper wage as the tour guides are the ones who make the whole experience at this museum.
Saludos desde Sonora Vladmir!

Saw this museum on Trip Advisor, and thought it sounded interesting, but we weren't sure it was worth the price. Decided to try it, and so glad we did!
What a fun, one of a kind experience!. Vladimir was a fantastic guide, gave us ideas on how to stage us, then took as many pictures as we wanted with the perfect angle to make our pictures look super amazing and 3 D!. He even took panoramic pictures that showed us in 3 different parts of the picture!. Super cool!. Thanks Vladimir!

What you get with your ticket is a private guide who takes pictures of you that immerse you in the 3D paintings. In my case the guide was Gretchen who did a great job taking pictures, and she was very patient taking the same picture many times making all adjustments I requested. The only reason I'm giving this 4 stars and not 5 is the fact that the 3D effect is not actually visible in real life, you can only see it in pics.

The museum was so fun & worth the money ($30 US ea). We got a guided tour by Robert, not only was he friendly but very informative about the paintings & artist. Please beware you are expected to take Your shoes off & wear socks as your walking on art. I recently had double foot surgery & am unable to walk bare foot. They made accommodations for me (nylon booties over my sandals). Our guide Robert took all our pictures & helped us on were to stand at each piece of art for the best 3D images. Amazing experience and I highly recommend it for couples or families.

When you arrive and if the door is locked that means the guide is assisting someone else in the art room. There will be a number on the door for you to call and someone will come out and assist you. Before entering the art room you have to swap your shoes for socks that they provide if you didn’t bring any. We had so much fun taking pictures here! Didn’t feel rush one bit and most of the time we was on our own taking pictures on our own pace. The guide will jump in between here and there and help take pics of me and my daughter. There’s a sticker on the floor to guide you where to stand to get the right angles. The guide is always there to assist if you have any questions too. Even if you go alone the guide will be your photographer!
Plenty of parking in the lot for a small fee.

Vladimir helped us out when we got to the museum. He was AWSOME! We got there about about 45 minutes before they were closing, so we were the only people there for the majority of our visit. We were dressed in our shorts and cover-ups because we had arrived right from the (very rocky) beach.
He gave us socks (pedi socks like you’re trying on a pair of shoes) and gave us to option to lock away our bags we were carrying, we allowed him. Coming in we had to walk up steps because it used to be a theater. And then we entered the actual picture area.
Initially, it was very basic and “fake” looking but when Vladimir told us exactly where to stand/ sit, took the pictures for us and allowed us to see them... it was amazing, I couldn’t believe it lol. Not to mention he explained the pictures, made us laugh and was very patient. We didn’t feel rushed at all and actually took our time as well as retakes of photos.
By the end of the evening, being that we drove ourselves he even helped us with directions to Walmart, about a 5 minute walk, gave us a little info on the city and recommendations on other activities. Being that we went on a Saturday, they was a festival in the park area going on, people selling things and food, great scenery.
Not to mention. The museum is in a great location! If you park or get transportation I guess, it’s like a “mini Times Square” Great area to get food as far as selection and to also sight see if you wanted to make a day of it.
I hope this helps, I read reviews a lot and sometimes I wish they have all the info I added.

My fiance and I spent a very enjoyable couple hrs in the museum. The artwork was incredible (copies of a famous chalk street artist's works). Very interactive, as the whole idea is to become part of the artwork via photos. Robetas, our guide, was very friendly and knowledgeable and did a great job snapping pics on our phone.
If you like (or are OK) with hamming it up a bit, you'll definitely this tour. Great rainy day activity. Or just to take a break from the sun.

For those who love street art, this is the place. Imaging all street art captured and out in one large place. This is the only thing you can do in downtown, other than shopping and and walking... you definitely need the help of the guide to take fantastic pictures that bring about great visual effects. You have to take the pictures as shown in the pictures in the side and stand at the exact sport shown to get the perfect effect. You will
Be surprised at them optical illusion created. 2 hours needed. 250 Pesos ($10) taxis from most area hotels. Shoes to be removed to keep the photographs on the wall (wall paper) clean.

We came about a hour before closing and to our surprise we were the only ones there. Robert greeted us and he was great!! Helped with suggesting certain positions for the photos, it was like having a personalized photographer. It was a great experience that should be added to any todo list when in playa del Carmen. There was even a documentary (about 20 minutes) that was recommended as well so that you can get a background to the artist.
