Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The sales advertised on the website are not real. The sale prices are prices that everyone else charges. Our Dos Ojos cenote dives went well even though I only did one dive. The divemaster was freelance not from the school. But on the underwater museum dive, Antonio grouped us with a student taking his open water test and charged us the same price which was not right. I’m sure he got a good deal from the freelance dive master for our dive because we were just added to the student dive which would have happened no matter what. Antonio refused to pass the discount to us but more importantly our dive was very slow and was around a lot of sand for the sake of the student. I specifically told Antonio we didn’t want to be diving with beginners and he disregarded our request. It was a scam as far as I’m concerned. He said he didn’t break any rules. On all the dives we went with scubascool, none were led by their own instructors so you’re better off finding a freelance instructor and going with them so they can cater to your needs rather than this school that just dumps you into whatever group that makes them the most money.

Lots of fun, great profesor! Open water in a cenote was really cool and coral reef was insane. Our divemaster Antonio was really patient and nice.

We had a wonderful day with Antonio at cenozumel! The discovery dive was totally worth it, we got nice food on the boat and the guide was professional. We'll definitely get our open water after this! Thanks a lot 🤙

I had an awesome time diving w the Scuba School! They were so accommodating, adding me to their afternoon dive the day I wanted to go, and picked me up and dropped me off right at my hotel. The training was efficient but thorough- they made sure I felt comfortable with all of the basics and then we got right to it! We saw all kinds of fish and a really cool eel in a hidden little cave! All of their equipment was very nice and comfortable. Will definitely dive with them again and highly recommend!

My guide, Antonio, simply didn't turn up on the beach at 1.30pm as we had arranged after paying a $30 deposit. I received no correspondence until 4.30pm that day saying he was diving at another location. No apology. Luckily I was 'adopted' by another dive school but my equipment had not been provided so the other guides managed to scramble some together but I was left with no wetsuit and I was cold when diving. After speaking to other guides and divers, Antonio is known to be 'flaky' and unreliable. I agree with this. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere. I dived with Phantom Divers on another day and had a great experience.

Took an outstanding trip with Scubascool in Feb 2023. Guillermo was my guide, very small group. We did 3 cenotes including The Pit. Guillermo was patient and very instructive, very laid back and chill. Felt that he definitely had my safety in mind first, but also showed me some outstanding formations. Can’t recommend enough. Booking the dive was a process but definitely worth it, outstanding dive experience.

We had Guillermo as our private dive guide. He was extremely nice and customer orientated. He brought us to two very beautiful cenotes for an awe-inspiring experience. Beforehand I could organise the whole trip easily vis WhatsApp. Totally worth it!

DON’T DIVE THERE.
We had a terrible experience with Antonio and his diving center. We flew all the way from San Francisco to Cancun only to do scuba diving, and this guy ruined our trip. I’m a rescue scuba diver and brought 2 of my friends here to do their open water course, Antonio seemed very friendly over whatsapp all the way until we arrived. The day before diving he sent Edson, a very nice and friendly guy to check my buddies sizes and equipment needs, they suggested going to Cenote since the weather might not be good for ocean dive with no pool training (that’s weird since it’s their first time diving and visibility in cenote is not very good). Anna came to pick us up next day, she’s a very good and friendly person, and we had a very nice conversation with her until we arrived to Cenote. She gave my buddies a crash course explaining essential stuff and took them into the water. Preparing equipment felt a little rushed and they didn’t seem to learn how to setup their equipment. The minute they got in the water the weight belt fell from one of my buddies, she wasn’t able to set the built tight enough and he was always worried it will fall again, they lost confidence in her and the dive became so stressful. Even though Anna was very nice, but she doesn’t seem to own the training, she didn’t give them the confidence and assurance they needed to feel safe under water. Both my friends ended up not diving that day, and they didn’t learn anything, not even how to kick with fens in order to move. The whole trip was worthless, so we called Antonio asking about alternative options since Cenote didn’t work for them and if we could yo with another instructor. Antonio didn’t seem to care, all he needed was the full payment of the course and this will consider this day as a full training day even with all the mistakes Anna made in the training, and instead he was blaming us for not understanding her. We didn’t mind paying, but since we didn’t take any technical training we asked to just consider this as for a regular dive which is $100 each instead of a full training day which is $200 and we’ll continue tomorrow with the course and pay 2 full training days as normal. At this moment he became so rude, he threatened us and started to call us names. He was like I don’t care if you can dive or not, you’re a** holes and can’t dive it’s not my problem. And I’ll send my people tomorrow in the morning to wait for you (since he knows our address now) and I’ll collect the money for the second day. We tried to understand what’s wrong with him, we kept saying dude relax, we’re here to have fun and we don’t need any trouble for any one, all we need is to take an open water course! He said I’ll hang up now, and kept calling us names.
My take here, DON’T RUIN YOUR TRIP IN THIS PLACE!
Next day we found an AWESOME diving center close by called SCUBA10, my buddies did 2 dives each one is 45 minutes 10 meters deep.
Antonio you’re a terrible person and we regret doing business with you!

If you are looking for a great diving adventure, look no further! Everything was well planned and went smoothly without any excess hassle. Pick-up arrived on time and Antonio was easy to talk to. The experience was very personalized. Boats were not huge or overcrowded. Our dive master, Paulina, was friendly and competent. Scubascool's rental equipment performed as expected.
