Merida English Library is based on the model of the classic, local public library, which is the centerpiece of every community in the United States and Canada. Its mission is to provide English language materials in all formats to meet the information, educational and recreational needs of English-speaking people of all ages in the diverse communities which make up Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. Its also a great place for a visitor to meet other English-speaking people and see what is going on in the expat community in Merida. Everyone is welcome to use the library during regular hours. To check-out books, you must become a member. For membership fees, visit our website.

Great place to meet locals....Locals, I mean expats...friendly venue to meet expats that are locals....we made LOTS of friends in this library...it also has a god selection of very good books ...

We took the house tour the MEL offers and really enjoyed it. The volunteers are very dedicated and offer a great service.More

The English Library offers walking tours on Tuesdays from 9:00-12:00 where they take you to visit 3 different homes. Each week different homes are visited. Very interesting! The cost is 250 pesos.More

Yes the English Library has AA meetings twice a week. Call for days and time. Good meetings. 👍😊

The "First English Meeting of Merida" group of Alcoholics Anonymous was established in 1999. We offer weekly AA and Al-Anon meetings in English.

I heard that sales of Trump piñatas have been brisk, across all of Mexico, but I have no facts on that. Otherwise I don't think I heard his name mentioned in the two weeks I was in Merida.
