In June 2018, we spent two weeks in Merida. We were accosted by Many merchants in town during our stay. The sales people in this town can get somewhat aggressive when it comes to the touristy areas. No reason for fear but just know that...More

Those that represent the Mundo Maya construct of business are not endorsed by the Mundo Maya Program. The program died in 2014. We are looking to resurrect it based upon true Maya values and historical terachings. The first thing you need to look for at...More

We could not leave our hotel in Merida without being accosted by men pretending to be friendly locals (one of whom literally dragged us to this store). It got so bad we did not want to leave the hotel. I went out alone one day...More

Our interaction with this store and its employees was the lowest point of our whole trip to Mexico. They sold us a rug for an embarrassingly steep price that they claimed was handmade by Mayan artists from 100% wool, all naturally dyed. And of course,...More

I honestly don't know how they have the heart for ripping people off like they do. I really wanted to buy typical hat and asked for top quality ( the one that you can fold, holds the liquid and is being used on weddings). well...More
