Great experience with Ivan
May 2021 • Friends
We did the free walking tour in Merida, our guide Ivan was super informative and gave us some excellent recommendations for restaurants, cantinas and hidden gems! His English was perfect and we really enjoyed learning about the history of the city of Merida - thank you Ivan!

Go on your first day
Jan. 2020
No matter how much research you’ve done leading up to your trip make sure you stop in here your first day. Great English, useful advice, tips and information. Located right in the heart of Centro. Can’t thank the good people that work here enough for the service they provide,

Take the Walking Tour
Jan. 2020
We enjoyed our Walking Tour. The gentleman did his narratives in both Spanish and English. Very informative.

Thanks fo the help

Merida is a confusing town to manuver by foot let alone by car. They gave me some good directions, things happening that day and what time plus they gave me a good map. If you need a little help stop in.

Stop by when you arrive in Merida
Dec. 2019
Merida has people selling tours in every corner, so I didn't know if they were legit or not. I stopped by the tourism office and the staff recommend me reliable agencies that would take me to Chichen Itza and the cenotes. I did the tour and it was excellent. If it's your 1st time in Merida, I highly recommend stopping by and getting info from them.

An informative tour with a great guide
Aug. 2019
MY family and I really enjoyed the free walking tour of Plaza Grande. It was a really enjoyable 2 hours of touring buildings surrounding Plaza Grande and Plaza Grande itself. It gave us a sense of the history of Merida and the Yucatan. The group was small (15 people or so) and is appropriate for all ages. It is indeed free but please remember to tip the guide. They won't ask but it's well deserved.

Walking tour with some good information but room for improvement
Aug. 2019 • Couples
Free walking tour was average. It was at a very fast pace because the guide had to do it in English & Spanish. Also only really walk around the square just outside the tourist office. Whereby it was informative, it could be improved by having separate English & Spanish tours and having a bit more walking around key points of the city.

Not Truly A "Walking Tour"
Jun. 2019 • Friends
This was the shortest walking tour I have ever done, not in time but in distance. We truly only walked the square and that was it.
The guide was knowledgeable, however it was hard to understand his knowledge as he spoke so fast. I understand and speak both English and Spanish, however he switched back and forth between the two so rapidly and seemingly without rhyme or reason that it was hard to follow.
I would recommend a different free walking tour.

Free walking tour: fantastic!
Apr. 2019 • Solo
I'm an enthusiast for Native American cultures and history, and this free walking tour was an absolute hit. The gentleman in charge spoke both Spanish and very clear English. The walk doesn't go too far away from the central plaza, but there's quite a bit of history here. "Nuestro guia era de Maya", if you know what I mean, and he gave us so many great historical facts about the area. There were some people in the tour group who clearly didn't have much interest in Mayan history, so they looked bored, but for me (an enthusiast), this was SUCH an incredible tour.

Remember, please tip your tour guide! They do a really great job.
