Cantina tour

We loved this tour, and Jose was a perfect guide, choosing three really great cantinas with a nice mix of beers and mezcal.

Our guide for this tour was Jose. He met us promptly and walked us through both the main market and smaller market. He was great at explaining how the different foods were cooked and explaining the spices. I would definitely recommend him and the tour.

5 Stars! Our guide, Suri, expertly took us through the main markets, where we tried several fruits and foods along the way. She took us to her favorite spice vendor so we could buy some achiote paste to take home. We also sampled excellent seviche and gelato. It was just enough walking and sampling. Now we know where to go... More

What a great day this was. Suri was so informative explaining all the local produce at the market, We even got to taste lots of new and delicious Mayan foods. At Suri's mother home we participate in the food preparation. We then got to eat the food we prepared- yum! Suri then sent us a recipe book with many delicious... More

Worked with Adriana to coordinate hotel/transfers/ and several tours while in Merida for a week. Everything worked efficiently. Our incoming flight was delayed, but the driver was waiting for us upon arrival, we were taken to the lovely La Mision Fray Diego, where our breakfasts were included and served in the charming courtyard, where the birds serenaded us, but were... My wife and I recently took the cantina tour with Jose. It was alot of fun and we learned how the cantina's work. We sampled two beers at each cantina (three total stops). Jose met us promptly at the square and off wie went. The first one was almost a sports bar and had the food we liked the least.... More

I decided to join Adventures Mexico's private tour to visit several Mayan sites (Uxmal, Kabah, Sayil, Labna and X'lapak) which are challenging to cover in a day trip without own private transport as I decide to see south of Merida after visit some of the popular site like Chitzen Itza. The experience with Adventures Mexico was great from the beginning... More

We had an experienced and friendly guide in Suri, who maneuvered us through the market, made sure we tasted local food, and showed us how to purchase what we would need for our cooking experience. Riding the local bus was also part of our adventure as we a visit to the cocina of her mother. We made a great meal... More

Our market tour and cooking class were a highlight of our trip to the Yucatan. Our guide, Suri, was knowledgeable, friendly, informative, and spoke excellent English. We are both fairly avid home cooks, and we still learned a great deal from the market tour. Cooking with Suri (and her charming mother) was a blast, and the meal we made was... More

This was a true Mexican experience. We met our guide/chef, Suri, and walked to the 2 largest markets. She introduced us to food we had never before seen, and shopped for the ingredients for the day's lunch. Then through the maze of streets to catch the local bus to Suri's mother's house. The bus ride was an experience in itself.... More
