Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It was a dry, warm winter's day in February when my bachelor party group was steered to this house of tequila. We were high and drunk on the joys of the Mexican wildnerness, adrenaline wafting off us like perfume, and last on our list before embarking back to our ship was a promised tasting of authentic Mexican tequila.
We were naive young men. Some believe naivete is the only means of obtaining joy in a cynical world. But much like the Trojans and the Greeks, we trusted the gift horse was just a gift horse.
The proprietor of the establishment wove us a tale of incredible brewing and chemistry that indicted all the tequila sellers in the US of impropriety and greed. It's not unbelievable. Capitalism will offer you one hand in friendship and pilfer your wallet with the other. Why wouldn't we believe large corporate brewers infuse their tequilas with so many preservatives that the drinks could be used to clean car batteries?
Tasting was a different experience. I've always been averse to hard liquor. The taste makes me want to find my grandfather's old gym socks and vomit into them. And yet, the tequila served at our tasting was smoother than a baby covered in vaseline. The proprietor explained the smoothness was in the careful ageing, the charcoal in the barrel, the tears of all the children they have stomping on agave plants in the back room. We believed it. We were naive, after all.
I won't say how many bottles were purchased. It's hard to convey how much trust we had, not only in the proprietor of the establishment, but also the guide who recommended it. He had lulled us in with friendship and camaraderie, and being young men on an adventure, we only sought good times. The careful structure of the racket was clear in hindsight. We were betrayed. Capitalism's other hand is a sneaky one.
What was purchased was not what was tasted. Every bottle we bought, regardless of age, vintage, label was the same cheap, paint thinner-smelling tequila. Even worse, their most 'aged' variety that came in a black bottle was the same tequila, and the bottle's color was spray-painted on. If we'd bothered to taste it, we might've gotten sick.
It's a clever ruse. It relies on establishing a long chain of trust, leaving you feeling good and happy and connected to people you never knew you'd meet, and maybe that the differences between people living the world over are insignificant, only to have both your heart and wallet torn out of you like a vindictive ex on a spiteful quest.

Enjoy the sample tasting because that's the only time you'll ever taste tequila like it. If you choose to buy their 'vintage', don't say I didn't warn you.

They let you sample high quality tequila . Then you buy it for $100 dollars , only to find out when you get home that it isn’t the same tequila ! It is a low end version , not the high quality stuff you thought you tasted .

This was the biggest waste of my time. It is not an actual Tequila Farm, it is just a little museum with a few history facts. Mostly everything they talked about I knew from watching television. You pay $5.00 to walk in a circle.
Do not buy the Tequila at the end of the tour, but if you do decide to buy some pick one of the bottles near the area where you tasted. Do not get kne that.is already wrapped up for you. They do a bait and switch. I got a bottle.that was already wrapped my daughter picked one off the shelf. The.guy told her he had some already wrapped but she said she wanted the one she picked (smart girl). When we got home hers was just like the one we tasted, mine on the other hand was a watered down version.

Just returned from an excursion to this tequila "factory." Please take heed of the negative reviews. Not all buyers' remorse.
My experience: Listened to knowledgeable mini lecture validated by tequila tastings. Led inevitably to the sales pitch on bottles sampled. I bought the 12 years aged tequila $159 reduced to $139. Bottles were well wrapped for transport home. Issue 1: Credit card receipt was in pesos. $ amount written by hand on receipt. I too didn't do the math and found I was substantially overcharged. Issue 2: No way is the liquid in the bottles I purchased the same as in the bottles sampled, as verified by the burning in my throat as the tequila went down and a comparison with a 1800 reposada bottle. YMMV, but I'm not a happy customer.

After stopping at Mi Mexico Lindo for a "tequila tasting" as part of our Celebrity excursion we now find the bottle we purchased is NOT tequila. We were told it was flavored , all organic tequila. We purchased the almond cherry flavor for $49 us dollars. The bottle we were given was very well wrapped and taped. Once home and unwrapped we discovered our purchase is nothing more than almond flavored liquor, NOT tequila! Its 20% alc vol. Tequila would be higher! Can't believe we fell for this scam! We are going to dispute our credit card charge for this and also put in a complaint with Celebrity Cruise line. Avoid this place!!

After a great education on tequila and some very tasty tasting. You will want to buy but DON’T. What you taste and what they sell you are not the same. What you get is a low grade, run of the mill tequila. You will pay a premium for low grade alcohol. I’m very sad they did the bait and switch! They will be very nice and friendly....but just to get to your money! Total scam artist!!

!!TOTAL SCAM!!- The tequila we sampled during the tour and what we purchased were completely different. We purchased 4 bottles of the 12 year aged collection @ $129.00 a bottle. The sampled version was smooth and high quality. What we received tasted completely different. They certainly took advantage of the fact that we were with a cruise ship and could not return the items. DO NOT VISIT THIS PLACE!! They should not be in business and I will ensure Royal Caribbean is aware that they should warn their customers to stay away!

It all seemed pleasant enough. We stopped here as part of a purchased, legitimate excursion package on e-bike via CE Inc. Tour was good. Stopped for the tasting - best tequila ever. Bought several bottles ($$$) to "savor on special occasions" back home. Now home - doesn't taste nearing as good as what we were given at the place. Just run of the mill tequila (I hope - at this point not sure what to believe.) Feel ripped off. Certain this is the bait and switch as many here have noted. Until this is resolved, legitimate tour package providers should be ashamed of themselves to include this in their offerings without at least a warning. If all you do is sample and not buy anything, would be an OK visit.

The tour is interesting with a personable guide but at the completion of the presentation, the high pressure sales begin. Several of us took the offer of grouping our purchase into one to take advantage of the "buy 4 get 1 free" offer. We were told that the purchase was in Pesos but they would convert directly to Canadian. The fun begins when you get home. I checked Tripadvisor reviews and saw the warnings. Conversion is higher than the going rate. The bottles are pre wrapped for travel and upon opening and tasting at home, it was very clear that this was not the tequila we tasted but a very cheap foul imitation. Warning signs..after several taster shots you still dont feel any effect of the alcohol during the presentation. ABSOLUTE FRIGGING SCAM. oh well lesson learned; hopefully others will read this and beware. Stay in the car or skip the tour entirely!!!

I bought a bottle of anejo (regalo de dios) and it froze solid in my freezer in about 5 hours. Patron has never frozen on me. This appears to be snake oil and I was duped.

I paid cash so therefore there is no retribution. Save yourself the shame and buy duty free at the airport.
