Considering that about 500 years ago, the first catholic mass in Mexico was performed in Cozumel, and that Cozumel has several Catholic Churches, is worth visiting each one of them, Iglesia de San Miguel being one of them, has easy access since is Downtown.

Right off the central city square this small but wonderful historic looking church can be found. Open at all hours for personal worship as well as regular scheduled services.

They asked for an English speaking person to read at the altar and my daughter volunteered. A memorable experience. The church is beautiful and these people are so friendly. After mass, there is a table outside with inexpensive and delicious pastries that sell out quickly....More

A beautiful church with lovely architecture. A free and quiet place to visit. The baptismal font is a large shell-quite spectacular. The gardens are beautiful place to sit.

If yu're in historic downtown Cozumel, you have to walk into this church. The statue of St Michael the Archangel (patron saint of the island) is on display.

We want to go to San Miguel Catholic Church in Cozemel, Mexico. We are coming in on a cruise ship. Is it close to the pier? Is it walking distance from the ship pier.? If it is, about how long do you think it should take us? We are quick walkers.
