If your looking for street fast food vendors and amusement type park rides. Plaza las Palapas is your place to go. You can people watch and enjoy some good street food. Go in the evening time. Good for solo venturing or for family and friends. You'll enjoy your time here and get a taste of Downtown Cancun.

This is a place where I you would be able to find many choices of food. Also you can find some souvenirs but not as many as other places like the market.

Make sure you have cash in order to buy food. One more tío, whenever you order food, you can go and find a seat and they will try to find you or shout your name. They will come down to clear your plate and they will ask you”termino su comida?”

Enjoy your trip

Maybe because was during the day and we still have the pandemic going on, but was quite dead place. I liked the stores though, the prices are excellent and people don’t try to push things to you.

THIS is what we came for! Our bellman had our taxi take us to Mercado 28 (too much of a tourist trap, we were honestly a little offended 😆) so we ended up wandering over to this park and the food was INSANELY good and very cheap! $3USD for 4 tacos, $2 marquesitas & beers for less than $1. Make your way over later in the evening.. street vendors (no pressure) and music everywhere!

We took the bus here and unfortunately got off on the second stop on Tulum instead of the first. After asking 4 people we finally found the park. What a hopping place of local food and culture. We went during the week but were told on weekend evenings they have dancing and mariachi music. Next time. Great place to walk around and grab some tacos at very affordable prices.

Located not far from Tulum Avenue, Parque las Palapas is the main park in downtown Cancun, and although activity peaks after sunset with street vendors and open-air stage performances daytime sees the space busy with locals visiting a collection of stalls offering various Mexican delicacies.

Abutting Cancun’s oldest Catholic church, with pigeons aplenty but no panhandlers on Saturday afternoon, it was after perusing the lineup that three stalls were selected, enough Food for three Americans fresh off a plane tallying less than 360 Pesos ($18USD) including three Beverages.

Beginning at Quesadillas D’Luis, a kitchen consisting of four women at the park’s rightmost border, it is safe to forget everything thought true of Quesadillas stateside, these nearly twice the size with house-braised Meats and local Cheese while Empanadas are quick-fried and topped with Crema around a molten center.

Off to an excellent start, with Salsas and Condiments on the side, stop two consisted of Suadero and Chorizo at Los Taquitos Mexicanos, the ten minutes preparation yielding piping hot Meat ready to be topped as desired, and chopped Chorizo generally outperforming Suadero that was dry and underseasoned.

Moving finally to the far-left of Restaurant Row, a place titled Dona Lulu, it is here that Oaxacan Food takes center stage, the 30-Peso Pambazo well sauced with freshly-prepared Papas con Chorizo and the Tlayuda oversized with plenty of tender Asada playing off crispy bits of Skin, Cheese, Beans and Vegetables.

The most family place you can find at the heart of Cancún. Cheapest prices ever and delicious food!
Only complain is the cleaning table process.

If you're close to it drop by in the evening. Lots of stalls around to try different foods and snacks. I felt perfectly safe if anyone is worried about that. Lots of people around and I was able to get an uber back to the hotek easily

You can get overwhelmed in here. The dusk hours is where the pushy sellers- sellers of all sorts - come in here. They can overwhelm you into buying non essential things. Do not buy! We recommend eating something from the stalls that sell some finger foods here ! !
