Great place to grab lunch, walk around, and do some souvenir shopping. We took the bus here and got a taxi back to our hotel.

I've been to many areas around Mexico and this isn't the best shopping/bargaining place. We ended up working hard to bargain for the purchase of 4 nicer shot glasses...we ended up seeing the same shot glasses at the airport convenience store for a few cents...More

Loved Mercado 28! All of the typical artisan artifacts that you expect to find and a lot more! One piece of advice to my Gringo friends, when haggling, don't ask what is the least? "Cuánto es lo menos?" Do you think they're really going to...More

I'm an idiot. I read all of the bad reviews, and thought those travelers just aren't well seasoned. I'm sure it's not THAT bad. WRONG! It was awful. We stayed maybe five minutes. Every turn you make you are HOUNDED by extremely pushy salespeople bombarding...More

All sell the same stuff, there is some bargains to get, but once you've been to one stall you been to them all. They all state they have the 'best' items and 'best prices' but they're all the same. The market is like a maze...More

some cool souvenirs at fair prices can be had here. It is confusing though. We took the city bus. The shops near the bus stop were ripoffs. Make sure you go to Mercado 28.

Alleyway after alleyway like a rabbit warren all selling the same tourist fare- hats, Tshirts, Knicks knacks, ladies tops. One big fine jewellery store that offers alcohol hoping to loosen your purse strings. Some leather ware shops near food court but not cheap as they...More

We chose not to walk when the bus is only 10.5 pesos. Taxis cost too much by comparison. We only used taxis after dark.
