Decent description of Maya civilization. Don't expect huge artifacts but appreciate the details in their display. Good for a couple of hours.

This museum has an excellent collection of Mayan antiquities, as well as a forested footpath which passes by Mayan ruins (with many iguanas as well). It made for a wonderful afternoon, and the information we learned made our subsequent trip to Chichen Itza even more...More

Half of the displays were in Spanish only, which I could usually read enough to figure out the meaning. There is also a comfortable trail that passes near Mayan ruins, so you don't need to spend part of a day on the bus.

The exhibits provide a lot of information about Mayan history with an excellent assortment of archeological items. It is a great place to take children (over 8 years old). There is an outside area that is open when there is not rain.

Walked around the museum. Interesting to look at all the artifacts and learn about their ways of living. Some English translations but many of the artifacts were only in Spanish. Was very interesting. Small museum so you can see everything in one to two hours....More

It is a small museum but has a nice collection of facts and artifacts on display. Unfortunately, the two videos did not supply seating and I could not stand long. The outside had a wonderful garden area mingled with the ruins. It was a good...More

It should be about a 15 minute drive. Note that you'll need to go past and make a u-turn at one of their turn-around spots when you go there. I do not think they have a snack bar, however the museum is small and you will be... More

Sorry, we do not know if there are guides or not. We do recall that English language signage has improved since the first year.
