I started visiting the Cancun area in 2002. I was offered a free SCUBA "demonstration" class by my resort. After a quick intro and a swim around the pool, I was hooked. I signed up for the resort diving course and began diving. My first dives were unpleasant/pleasant experiences. The sights and the sensations of being underwater were fantastic. The... More

Scuba Fred’s (formerly Nautilus Diving) which is located in the Cancun Clipper Club on the lagoon side. Fred is a former employee of Manta Divers and I remember from before when I dove in Cancun before. The only people diving were me, the Clemente (I hope I spelled his name right), the divemaster and a Mexican tourist whose name I... More

I recently returned from Cancun where I dove with Scuba Fred's. Last year Clemente gave me the opportunity to try scuba. I then returned to the US and became certified. I am now an Advanced Diver working on my Master Diver certification. Scuba Fred's run a great facillity. They are smaller and deal with smaller groups. Clemente is a fantastic... More

I had read on trip advisor about Octavio and Nautilus Diving. I stayed at the the Hyatt Regency and bumped into two ladies at the excursion desk. We both discussed how we wondered if the trip advisor rating was real or not. They assured me that they had just gone out with Octavio a few days earlier and how it... More

The folks that work here, especially Octavio, are friendly & knowledgeable. My gripe is that I specifically asked about rough seas & was told that it would not be a problem. Our party was dropped into very rough water & 4 out of 7 divers were sea sick. If you are susceptible to motion sickness, be forewarned....

My friend and I have never been on an actual dive and went to this place specifically because of the TripAdvisor reviews ignoring all other offerings. Very lucky we did and thanks to all the other reviews that were submitted. I'll talk about that later. One thing to mention first, IF YOU GET MOTION SICKNESS, TAKE SOMETHING FOR IT BEFORE... More

What a fabulous group of people. My experience could not have been better. I stayed at the Cancun Clipper Club for 10 nights and the primary purpose for the trip was to get in as much diving as possible. The dock is literally at the hotel. You walk from your room to the palapa where you get your gear and... More

My husband and I dove with Octavio in January 2009. We did a reef dive, wreck dive and a cenote dive. The cenote dive and the wreck dive have been the best dives in my life! Octavio is amazing. He is so friendly, offers very personal service and is big on safety. The groups are smalls: it was just my... More

I am a happy return customer to this fine diving establishment. I did a referral dive certification one year ago, and was lucky to have Octavio as my dive instructor then.....I had hoped upon my return this year, to be able to go out with him again, but he has a following, and he was already out with return customers.... Feb 2, I dove again with Nautilus/Scuba Freds. I got certified on a referral dive deal a year ago, with Octavio as my instructor, and wanted to go with him again this year, but due to his popularity, he was booked up, so Clemente was our dive master. My dive partner for the day was a novice, and did the... More
