- Joaquin MBuenos Aires, Argentina12 contributionsFun La Isla experienceLike the title implies, if you’re there at La Isla you might as well check it out. There’s a big price gap between the different “tiers” of your experience, we thought the swimming with dolphins was way too overpriced so we didn’t bother. However the standard entry fee we opted for to walk around and spend time with the stingrays, sea turtles was pretty fun. If you’re with young children it’s definitely worth the time.Dear Traveler: Thank you very much for writing about your experience at our facilities. - JuliaJuneau, Alaska30 contributionsInteresting if you're in the mallIt's a mall aquarium. It's pretty small despite having dolphins. However, I did like the axolotls. It has a couple touch tanks, some tropical fish, and a large tank with some cool fugu fish. It can be quite crowded as well.Dear Traveler: Thank you for taking your time to share your experience in our facilities. In the aquarium, we look to have a great service in each every one of the areas. The walk through in the aquarium can be 25 to 30 minutes or less, depending in how you take it. In fact, we have a lot of fish tanks in the first section, in the second part you can have contact with stingrays, starfish. Our only comment would be on their concern about the size of the habitats for the dolphins. In this regard, it is important for you to know that there is an official Mexican standard - which even exceeds international standards - and that regulates all dolphin care, from water quality, food, veterinary care and, of course, spaces available for animals. - Chuck B4 contributionsDolphin interaction at La Isla Mall Aquarium3 adults and 3 children ages 4-11 did the dolphin experience and had a wonderful time. All the staff and trainers were fantastic as were the online staff when we had to change reservations. Great respect shown for all the animals. Tons of great information. About 45 minutes in the pool with the dolphins. Very clean facility and equipment. Well worth the cost and a 30% discount if you book online. Aquarium small but nice. Evening show is great. Recommend highly.Dear Traveler, Thank you for writing your comments about your experience with us. We are glad to know that you had a great time in our aquarium and of course with our dolphins. - Hema KLeicester, United Kingdom21 contributionsDolphins were nice!It was my husbands birthday, and he loves dolphins, so I had booked the Dolphin ride and splash with aquarium trek package for my family of 5. First we were not given our wet suits, but then i told them that it states in the email that they included with the trek, so were then given to us. we did the dolphin interaction first, which was a good experience, however I felt sorry for the dolphins, wondering they must be getting tired doing the same things over and over so many times a day, especially posing for pictures! Then we did the aquarium trek, which I wouldn't recommend . Too much time was just wasted clicking pics by the 2 divers instead of letting us enjoy the fish. This tank is very small and its better to enjoy the fish from outside. Now, the photos were shown to us at the end, which were no doubt very nice but we were quoted $250! Now, we jokingly asked if we an get any further discount but the photographer got rude with us, he was like you paid for the experience didnt you? then why cant you pay for the photos!! and we were like exactly! we paid over $550 for the experience and now you want us to spare $250! his behavior put us off else we would have considered to buy the pictures anyway i think the ethical way to offer pictures would be to tell us before they start clicking that this would be the charge , so we can opt for it or opt out. that would not only save our time but also ,minimize stress to the dolphins. or they should make set packages.Dear traveler: Thank you for sharing your experience about our Aquarium. The welfare of animals under our care is the basis of all our operations, is the science on which we can give the best quality of life of our animals, that is the way we ensure that dolphins and other animals are treated in the correct way. We will apply necessary actions with the photographers . We apologize that you had this impression of our sales team. Small aquarium but for the price it was perfect for the kids. It doesn’t take but an hour to get through the exhibits so plan on going closer to the dolphin show time. The shows are in the evening at 6:30 and 7:30 and sell out fast. Due to covid they didn’t seat as many people but we went at 5:00 to buy tickets for the 6:30 show and it was sold out. You can touch the sting rays. There is swimming with dolphins which looked like a great experience even though we didn’t do that option. You are able to watch others do it and the kids got extra time watching the dolphins. The show was great and a good length. Due to covid you were only allowed to pay for a picture with the seal and not able to touch it. Kids had a great time.

The admission ticket allows you to see lots of things for really what is a reasonable price. Plus, on a hot Cancun day being inside much of the time here is a nice break from the sun and heat. The added cost to actually swim with the dolphin is ultimately worth it for one of the greatest memories you might have with your kids.

Went to fulfil my girlfriends dream of swimming with dolphins and even though originally not something I was overly fussed about it was a great experience. Staff were great and extremely knowledgeable and the dolphins demonstrated all their tricks and training brilliantly and all the usually stunts. They offer a range of packages, all of which are considerably cheaper if booked online. We paid for the premium experience which was priced at $111 online or pay on the door for $159. The package also included an aquarium trek, where you could interact with various fish and hold starfish. This was also a brilliant experience. The whole package is billed as 45mins with the dolphins and 20mins trek which I found good value. The real downside however is the cost of the photos they take. For dolphin photos alone prices start at $196 and range to $320!! Individual photos were $80!! For our dolphin and trek photos they were willing to do a deal at $250!! I fully understand the cost of upkeep of the aquarium etc but this really puts a negative on the experience has you either pay the price or walk away with just memories in your mind. I'm sure this could definitely be an area that can be improved and if more options were available at cheaper prices then the aquarium would get a lot more sales.

I’m going to tell you everything I learned about this tour;
1. We booked through the hotel. It was $40 cheaper to book the premier package that way than going direct & if you’re a TUI customer reading this, the
TUI packages are full of hidden extra costs and rubbish so you’re on the right lines with this one.
2. Take the bus here, it’s at the aquarium at the Liverpool/Isla centre & the transfer is $10 per person. The bus is 13 pesos.
3. They supply a towel & a locker included.
4. Don’t wear sunscreen or jewellery
5. They say it’s a group of no more than 4/6, but you’re in with all the packages. They close it down into different groups within the same pool. It’s not exclusive as it’s sold.
6. The photo packages are a massive rip off. $197 for the basic package of 40 photos, a further $80 for the scuba experience & $60 for the video. We haggled, they told us it was for the type of package we had. The other couple in our group refused to pay, then were offered the whole set for $100. I told the manager what I thought to that and he was more upset we had heard what they were offered. As sour tastes go, that was not one we wanted to finish on.
7. They left two photos of my wife out and the video, promised to put into the package and here we are 12 hours later without the rest of the package we paid for.
Other dolphin experiences are available, such as delfinius.
I will just add, the trainer was knowledgable and did answer all the questions, he was great.

I went with my fiancée to swim with the dolphins. They had plenty of hand sanitizer and the staff was good about COVID precautions. The dolphins were well trained and had a good amount of fun tricks. One child in our group was afraid of them, and the staff was good about comforting the kid and adjusting some of the tricks to make it less scary. Doing the dorsal fin ride was worth the extra $20, and the Superman looked awesome too. The photos were expensive, so unfortunately we didn’t buy any. I would have bought one or two individuals, but they really wanted to sell the packages. If you do want to buy a photo package, don’t pay their listed prices. They’ll offer you better deals if you tell them it’s too much.

We purchased the Couples Dolphin Swim which included not only the 45 minute once of a lifetime encounter with dolphins, but also admission to the aquarium and the evening dolphin show. The trainers, ours was Michelle, were very patient when giving us directions in the pool and had complete control of the dolphins at all times. Felt very safe and secure. We bought the picture and video package which seemed a little pricey but well worth it given the experience. The aquarium is right in the hotel zone at La Isla Shopping village. Everything is very clean at this shopping village, with masks, temperature check and sanitizer required at entry to the aquarium, Easy to get to by public bus for only $1 US.

We got the $15 / person admission, and while some of the things exhibited were interesting (dolphin skeleton, turtle shells, live dolphins, some interesting fish, and some live starfish you could touch), we were in and out in 20 minutes or so, and initially assumed we mistakenly took a shortcut, but nope, that’s all there was to it.
It wasn’t bad really, just not worth $15 at all. More like $5? $10 max.

I did the dolphin ride with my son and daughter. It was super underwhelming. My wife did not want to participate so she was a companion, who was situated above. They purposely have you "ride" (hold onto the dolphin dorsal fin and get slowly dragged for 10-15 meters in a direction away from the area where anyone but their photographer could take a picture). The entire experience was focused around getting pictures with the dolphin as its trainer had it perform the same exercises (picture poses) with all participants. There was no education or learning. At the end of it all, they try to sell you photo packages for $200-300 (US dollars, not pesos). You get to touch a dolphin, but I am not sure that it is worth the price. Seems like another tourist trap.

We visited the aquarium Christmas Day, 2 adults and three children (5,8,12). When you arrive they pull you aside and try to sell you a packaged deal, dolphin swim, underwater trek, Ferris wheel ride, Ripleys believe it or not, wax museum, etc. We only did the aquarium fee, $15 per person.
When you first enter, they make you take a family photo to sell you at the end.
Like most reviews state, the hallway with tanks is very small. The amount of time that it takes varies on how interested your kids are. We took about 30 minutes.
You then go to the hands on interactive parts. Included with the entrance fee is the sting ray hands on. You can touch one after you wash your hands. There weren’t any manta rays, it appears there was an accident involving the crocodiles after a recent storm. So there also aren’t any crocodiles. The other tanks are more like tide pools. There is also a turtle tank.
If you want to enjoy the included dolphin show come after 3pm. I think 4pm
Would be a great time, the show starts at 5:30pm. This way you can do the aquarium and then the show.
The location is actually larger than I expected, if you included the dolphin center and the hands on tanks.
I deducted a star for its size, leaves you wishing it was larger and offered more fish varieties. Another star because although it’s advertised as interactive, there really wasn’t much other than the stingrays and sea-stars. There were tablets the kids could play, but the space was crowded. Not much room.

Took my four year old to swim with dolphins. We purchased the splash package for around 80 bucks. He was able to swim out with the dolphins and touch them while they swam around him. Also got to kiss them and get some good pics. Now the pics, they originally tried to charge us $120. By the end I had them talked down to $60 for all of the pics. The pictures are good quality. Family members can stand and take pics from above but they won’t compare to the pics they take. Also, it’s $15 for anyone to enter the aquarium who isn’t going to swim with dolphins. We also had a nice lunch at the restaurant while we waited for our turn to swim. Overall, I was happy with the experience and so was my kiddo.
