Very nice experience
We took a kayak tour which was very good. He took us to Bird Island which was really full of different birds. We stopped on another island where there were hermit crabs.

The tour lasted 3 hours, it was not intense since we paddled for a while and visited an island. Very good guides, they took us several photo and shared them with us at no additional charge.

There were many mosquitos, even with repellent they bit us.

Disappointed
All there is are restaurants. Food was okay. Tour on boat-we did not take because he wanted 500 pesos for the 2 of us. The taxi ride was not worth it.

DON'T TAKE THE COMPANY TOURS AND TICKETS TO MANDINGA

The location itself is pretty interesting, but I strongly advise people against taking Tours and Tickets to get there. We paid for, and reserved, tickets to go to Mandiga. Were were told to be there at 2:45 for a 3:00 tram ride. After waiting in the tram for 45 minutes, we were then told the bus we are on is NOW going on a historic tour and we would have to take another; this bus drove up and was completley full accept for a few seats upstairs in the sun. I demanded a return of my money and was told no. Later, they then grudgingly agreed. This company is totally unprofessional and not worth the time or your hard earned money. They don't care about you, all they want is your money. Once they get it, watchout!

This is still a pueblito even though it is only a short way off the main hwy on the outskirts of town near the water where they are building new hotels. I had the Robalo (sea bass) a la plancha (grilled) and it was really good. The other choice is Huachinango (red snapper). The people are really friendly. Paid a 3 piece band (they were good) 70 pesos to play la vida no valle nada. Kind of out of the ordinary for Veracruz but everyone knows it. Took the boat (lancha) ride in the lagoon. Glad I went there.

Let me eat in peace!
This was a horrible experience! The food was okay. We ate at Restaurante Mandinga on the main land side. We couldn’t get a bite of food in our mouths because we were getting bothered every minute by some new vendor trying to sell something or someone trying to play music. The shrimp tasted like chlorine.

A nice day out

We had a boat ride around the lagoon which was pretty but sadly developement is encroaching so it won´t be for much longer. There are lots of eateries and we enjoyed some spectacular oysters, shrimps and other fresh seafood.
