We are talking about one of the biggest places where silver and minerales come from. So going into this mine was the compliment to seeing where all the precious silver comes from. There is silver for sale everywhere and cheapest prices i ever saw. Our guide was fun and very informative. If you can stay at the hotel where the mine is ,even better. It has ana amzing mural art by Diego rivera and the sight over taxco is incredible. I was fun to be down in the mine and see the heart of the earth that produce such precious minerals. Loved it!

We went on a lark as the manager at the hotel recommended it.
It was surprisingly good. We all donned hard hats and went down in a real slow elevator. Lots of mineral deposits were pointed out and the guide was very good. I don’t know if they have English speaking guides.

Spent a lot of time in a very cave-like man-made mine that was accidentally discovered not that long ago. Overall, very decent bang for the buck.

Very nicely presented, fascinating geology and lovely setting. The mine is located literally under the hotel Posada de la Mision. The admission fee includes a drink at the hotel pool-side bar, where you can admire an impressive stone mozaic.
The mine is pre-Hispanic, not big but well preserved and presented. The guides are knowledgeable and very proud of their heritage. A must see in Taxco.

Definitely not worthy the 150 peso it charges(Teotihuacan and National Museum of Anthropology only charge 70),it's a very short tour, should only take less than half an hour ,but if you got nothing to do maybe you can go.
Less than 100 steps/stairs,not as intensive as others described.Staff there are friendly, but not much English introduction.

Heard this was a good tour and it was.
Went down 4 stories on an elevator, hiked down to approx.150'.
Guide was very informative. There was a native show of how they mined hundreds of years ago. The mine is located directly under the Posada la Mission Hotel. At the end of the tour we were led to the gorgeous pool deck and a ice cold beer was included in the price of the tour...a 150 peso's..what a deal!!

My girlfriend grew up in Taxco and used to work in the silver industry, so she had been to the mine before, but still enjoyed the tour and found it very interesting, as did I. Our tour guide was top notch and provided us with a lot of insight and historical facts that made the tour very interesting. I highly recommend it because knowing the history of Taxco makes the town seem even more magical. Plus, it's a great way to get out of the sun and cool off on a hot summer day!

Very nice tour. However as an American who is fluent in Spanish it was difficult keeping track of the tour. Tour guide was great but spoke fast and lightly, we were three families each with kids.

Be mindful of the stairs, it’s a bit of a workout, definitely need good walking shoes. Would not recommend eating heavy meal before the tour. There is no set time, tours are given as guests arrive. We waited no longer than 5 minutes

Good idea to bring your own flashlight but not necessary. It’s a little dark in the tunnel.

We opted for the $150 pesos photos of the tour, your given a CD to take home with the pictures.

Highly recommend may not be suitable for kids under 4 years old.

Mina De Taxco was really great for those interested in minerals, mining and simply just exploration. My fiancé and I travel all over, and rather adventurous. We’ll pretty do anything, as long as we’re able to get back to our kids, without major injury. This really was a great tour, and the pictures can tell a great story, if you’re into that. However, from an adventure point of view, it’s like the mine at the Museum of Science and Industry, in Chicago. Great time, great guide, but nowhere near as adventurous as we had thought.

This is a prehispánico mine below a hotel. It was found just 3 years ago. There is a tour inside the mine 150 pesos per person but if you get a coupon from any taxi cab you can get 10% discount. This price includes a tourist guide plus a soda or beer at the end of the visit. They have a small show to present how the Indians extracted the metals.

For the teenagers there is a rappel wall 300 m depth. This is another option 300 pesos per person. It looks interesting but It looks more for professionals.

The classic tour you go 50 mts below but with rappel you can go 300 mts below they said you can watch a small underground river at 300 m depth.

Any way I liked the visit.
