Do not miss this outstanding and beautiful city in eastern Mexico. The city and cathedral are among some of the oldest colonial buildings in the new world. And the cathedral in this otherwise medium and relatively unknown city were singled out for a visit by Pope Francis two years ago. Cathedral and plaza are magnificent. And the plaza comes alive... Humble and yet magnificent. Take time to enjoy the walls, the small rooms, look at the ceiling. Find inspiration. Take a look at the people. All kinds of people. Loved the time I spent there. Outside is this huge plaza, and in it, people talking, walking, selling, buying, taking pictures. Close your eyes and listen to all the languages being... More

This is the heart of San Cristobal de las Casas and its main square, it´s very easy to get there. It´s a master piece from Chiapas. Definetly a must to visit!

The cathedral is fresh renovated and looks very nice. It's positioned at the main square, which is one of rarely large and organised places in this city.

Nice church but not much decoration. It is the Cathedral so it is surely important, but there are more beautiful churches in SCDLC

San Cristobal is so far the most linguistic and culturally diverse city I've visited. It's incredible the amount of ethnical groups and foreigner visitors that meet in this city. All this context provide to the beauty of this cathedral. In its atrium one can hear all kind of languages; Indigenous and European. This setting creat a great atmosphere to enjoy... More

Beautiful out and inside,.. peaceful and tranquil after a hectic week. The altar is compeling, the santos breathe,.. the place is alive. Feel the Magic.

This baroque church is beautiful on the outside and at certain times of the day the colour of the orange paint becomes very intense. The inside is interesting but -and I say this after numerous church visits in Mexico- nothing stands out. There are some old and careworn paintings of martyrs, ornate altar pieces and statues including the ubiquitous 'Lady... More
