Amate Books is centrally located near the Zocalo of Oaxaca, México. This store has a little of everything for the tourist but a good selection for those wanting good books. They also have a good selection of tourist items or collectibles for the tourist.

Definitely a great selection of books for every taste here. Helpful staff and some tasteful souvenirs e.g. pretty ceramic magnets.

Of the book stores that I saw in Oaxaca, this one had the most impressive assortment of books - many I wanted to purchase but didn't want to carry with me. They also had a good collection of post cards.

Cozy store with lots of titles related to the Oaxaca valley and Mexico overall. I found a great book on street art and the graphic art collectives that I doubt I could find at home. Worth a visit!

We read the previous reviews on TripAdvisor and went there to buy a book of the Mexican cuisine. The lady helped us very well and gave us good recommendations. They have a big assortment in English (and Spanish) books, fiction and non fiction as well.
